17:15 Newmarket

GYTO horse racing tips for Wednesday 23rd October features a stat bet for Newmarket and a Lucky 15 covering Navan, Southwell, Fontwell and Kempton.

Wednesday Stat Bet

Plenty of interesting types in here but it might be worth chancing WE DARE TO DREAM on handicap debut. This Dark Angel colt is yet to run a bad race going down narrowly on his first two starts before winning at Haydock last month. An opening mark of just 81 may well prove to be lenient and he looks overpriced at 8/1.

Trainer David O’Meara has done well with handicap debutants this year saddling 6 winners and 10 placed efforts from 37 runners so I have also taken the 2/1 to hit the frame.

Lucky 15 Tips Today

Today’s Lucky 15 from Joe Norris at GYTO pays 112/1 at the time of posting – a £1 Lucky 15 would return £365 from a £15 outlay.

  • Final Curtain – Navan 3.10
  • Deep Purple - Southwell 3.18
  • Instant Gambler - Fontwell 4.15
  • Dolce Courage - Kempton 7.40

Navan 3.10 Final Curtain (3/1)

Lope De Vega filly FINAL CURTAIN has shaped with promise on all 3 starts to date and again she ran well when third at Naas when last seen. She drops back to the minimum trip now and in first-time cheekpieces she may well come good. Beatrix Power was running well when last seen and looks the most obvious danger with the promise of more to come.

15:18 Southwell

Southwell 3.18 Deep Purple (2/1)

There was plenty of promise in that debut run from DEEP PURPLE and if he improves again he should have a good chance to open his account here. He was beaten just over a length at Warwick and the front pair came well clear from the rest. The winner Kaylan looks a nice horse so the form should work out. Little Watson is the danger.

16:15 Fontwell

Fontwell 4.15 Instant Gambler (6/4)

The likeable INSTANT GAMBLER has relished the switch to chasing completing a hat-trick at Hexham when last seen. He is up another 7lb but back at this venue where he was so impressive on penultimate start he could be set to extend the winning sequence. Eurkash shaped well over hurdles and if building on that back over fences could be the one to give the favourite most to think about.

19:40 Kempton

Kempton 7.40 Dolce Courage (11/4)

The promising DOLCE COURAGE was a perfect 2-2 as a 3yo and while we haven’t seen him since he still has a great deal of potential. This looks a good opportunity on return now tackling handicap company and it wouldn’t be a massive surprise to see him stay unbeaten. Whitcombe Rockstar is also on a winning run and looks the danger bidding for a four-timer.
