Gavin Cromwell landed this contest last year and he can do so once more with PATH D'OROUX, who has been presented with a decent opportunity to get off the mark over fences. Third in the Grand Annual over C&D in March, and placed in valuable handicaps either side of that, the seven-year-old sets the standard and may have too much for San Salvador, who arrives on the back of a comfortable Grade 3 success at Roscommon. A Festival winner here in the past, Jazzy Matty cannot be ruled out following a recent victory over 2m5f at Sligo.

MATATA may have been found out in Grade 1 company towards the back end of last season, but he remains a talented sort to keep on side as he makes his first foray outside of novice company. The six-year-old has an unblemished record when fresh and may be able to strike at the main expense of last year's winner Dancing On My Own, who arrives in top form following a comfortable success at Ballinrobe in August. Calico has gone well here before more than once, while Arclight remains an interesting prospect in this sphere.

GALE MAHLER registered a sixth win on the bounce when stepped up to Listed company at the Galway Festival and the five-year-old has been found an excellent opportunity to continue her splendid run of form. Valgrand finished fourth in the Grade 2 bumper at Aintree before a pair of hurdling victories in May. He may prove to be the most obvious threat on his return from a break, although useful Flat performer Brave Knight has taken well to hurdling and is one to keep on the right side of.

Jacks Parrot is likely to prove popular after victories at Uttoxeter and Perth in the spring, when building on his UK debut effort. The five-year-old is expected to have more to offer, despite being 8lb higher, but the vote goes to CEANNDANA. The Irish challenger showcased his versatility when dropping back in trip to win at Sligo earlier in the month and appears capable of further progression. Last year's winner Mole Court, Are U Wise To That and Hold Your Fort can fight it out for the minor honours.

Point-to-point winner Minella Sixo impressed when scoring comfortably on his Rules debut over 2m at Fairyhouse earlier this month and, with improvement likely, it will be no surprise if he is able to make his presence felt in this grade. That said, preference is still for POTTERS CHARM, who was on target in a Ffos Las bumper in the spring before confirming that promise when bolting up over 2m4f at Worcester on his debut over timber recently. With his yard in fine form, he looks the one to side with. Cloonainra is also noteworthy.

FIERCELY PROUD enjoyed a productive campaign last season, scoring twice and running with plenty of credit in Grade 2 company a couple of times before finishing an admirable seventh in a hot handicap at Sandown. In these slightly calmer waters off 1lb lower, he could prove hard to peg back having run well fresh before. Inca De Lafayette lost little in defeat when attempting to complete a Taunton double and merits respect off 1lb higher on his reappearance. Useful dual-purpose performer Impero also catches the eye.
