CAITHNESS made a highly promising start to his career over fences when narrowly denied at Hexham last month. A 3lb rise for that effort looks manageable and having scored on soft ground before, the eight-year-old gets the vote ahead of Skycutter, who ran well himself on his chasing bow at Warwick when second over 2m4f. Not outside the first three in his last five starts, Dance Thief is another to consider.

Dropping back in trip looks like a good move for the daughter of Kayf Tara, and she can make it three wins in four starts at the main expense of Rockola Vogue, who has a 7lb penalty to overcome for a comfortable success over 2m4f at Hexham last month. Longhouse Legacy and Magical Annie, who makes her first start for the Fergal O'Brien yard, complete the shortlist.
