Similar comments apply to Teriferma, whose two wins in Ireland were impressive.

Having won a bumper for his previous yard before scoring twice over hurdles and once over fences since joining Nicky Henderson, PEAKY BOY has proven to be versatile and rates a serious player. The son of Kayf Tara won readily over 2m4f on his seasonal return last month and could raise his game further over this longer trip. Haiti Couleurs is feared most off just 5lb higher than his comfortable win at Aintree latest. Transmission is another must for consideration.

Gavin Cromwell, who was responsible for last year's winner of this race, sends out THEONEWEDREAMOF with a solid chance of gaining back-to-back wins in this sphere. A cosy winner over and extended 2m3f at Tipperary in July, the five-year-old mare is open any amount of improvement in this discipline and appears to be on a competitive mark for her handicap debut. Coco Mademoiselle showed promise on her chasing debut in September and is another with the scope for improvement. Realisation and Trapista complete the shortlist.

Il Ridoto readily accounted for Ga Law (second) in the Paddy Power Gold Cup last month and though both merit respect, the vote goes to FUGITIF. In danger of being left behind in that race, his seasonal return and first outing following wind surgery, Richard Hobson's charge managed to stay on for fifth. He's now 2lb lower, meaning he is 1lb below the mark off which he claimed this prize 12 months ago, and it would come as no surprise were he to go very close. Madara (fourth) is another to take seriously, along with top-weight Stage Star.

MASTER CHEWY kept good company last season, including when narrowly denied by the smart Found A Fifty in the Grade 1 Maghull Novices' Chase at Aintree in April. He came to grief at the sixth fence in the Tingle Creek last Saturday but, if none the worse for that tumble, he should go very close back in a handicap. Libberty Hunter hit the woodwork in the Grand Annual before finishing third in behind the selection in that Aintree contest. Harry Cobden keeps the ride and he is the biggest danger, ahead of Issar D'Airy.

SKYJACK HIJACK recorded his sixth win on the bounce when landing the odds at Newcastle with the minimum of fuss. The son of Jet Away is likely to prove competitive at this higher level and can continue his good progress. Western Knight is another improving hurdler with solid claims in this grade, having won in determined fashion at Ascot last month, while point-to-point winner Clondaw General made a winning debut over timber at Worcester on his first start for new connections.

JOYEUSE was no match for the winner when third in novice company at Ascot on her return to action, but Nicky Henderson's charge should be spot on for this handicap debut and a bold bid looks on the cards. Georgi Girl made a winning reappearance with an impressive display at Warwick and she can feature in the finish, while Lucy Wadham has won two of the last three renewals, so it would be no surprise to see a big run from Pretending.
