13:00 Wetherby

This Boxing Day Lucky 15 from Joe Norris at GYTO was 200/1 at the time of posting on the oddschecker app on Christmas Eve – a £1 Lucky 15 at those odds would have returned £575 from a £15 outlay.

Two days later, as we embark on a blockbuster day of horse racing featuring the King George, it's come in to just over 140/1 best price; however, a £1 Lucky 15 could still produce a £440 Boxing Day payout!

Let's get into GYTO's four selections, covering the action at Wetherby, Aintree, Fontwell and Kempton.

After catching the eye on hurdles debut MARLACOO (tipped at 2/1) improved again bumping into Roadlesstravelled last month. That rival has since won a Grade 2 at Haydock beating subsequent winner Country Mile so the form looks really good.

He has the size and scope to improve again and I expect him to prove a cut above this opposition. He shapes as though he’ll love this step up in trip and he should open his account against these.

13:40 Aintree

The step up to 2 and a half miles has been the making of ACT OF AUTHORITY (tipped at 5/2) and he has looked really progressive winning the last twice. He was briefly denied a run at Sandown and still managed to come again and win by a wide margin.

He was expected to follow up at Wetherby last month but did so in good style and with more to come again should defy an 8lb rise and complete the hat-trick with Sean Bowen in the saddle.

14:17 Fontwell

I certainly wouldn’t judge HIDDEN HISTORY (tipped at 3/1) too harshly on that Chepstow run last month. He was sent off a double-figure price and actually ran quite well up until he stumbled two out and lost all momentum.

His win at Lingfield earlier in the year was promising and now stretching out to beyond 3 miles should come into his own. This might not take a great deal of winning and he looks the most likely winner now.

14:30 Kempton

The one we’ve all been waiting for the King George and I can’t get away from the Irish raider SPILLANE’S TOWER (tipped at 7/2).

He was progressive over fences last season winning four of his last five starts and he reappeared with a huge run in the John Durkan bumping into Fact To File and splitting that rival and Gold Cup hero Galopin Des Champs.

Hopefully this better ground doesn't bother him too much and with more to come with that reappearance run under his belt I can see him being hard to beat.
