A half-brother to two useful French jump winners, the selection won a heavy-ground Lignieres bumper on debut, with that form being boosted as the fourth-placed horse scored subsequently and has himself since been bought by leading owner J.P. McManus. The more experienced Lakota Blue is vulnerable to smart types but nonetheless should again run well and holds Out For A Stroll on Punchestown form. Holy See was narrowly beaten by a subsequent Group 3 winner at Chantilly last February and could be useful, while Bacchanalian ran well enough on hurdles debut. Dark Oak and Shoda had Flat ability.

KAINSBOURG is an exciting recruit, having been purchased for 355,000 euro in November 2023. A bumper winner on debut in October 2023, the selection won a hot AQPS Group 3 race on heavy ground at Nantes before his subsequent sale the following month and while absent since, he was probably kept fresh until now and could be smart. Karamoja was herself placed in an Auteuil Listed hurdle in September 2023 and while slightly disappointing on her Irish debut, she raced too keenly then and notably drops back in distance wearing a hood. Laafi, a 35,000gns purchase in October, was rated 98 on the Flat and should do well over hurdles, while French import Autoportrait ran well at Navan. Torps has minor place claims.

FLEUR IN THE PARK has been running consistently well in Graded races recently and now steps up in distance. Placed at Listed level in a bumper, the selection was just touched off in a Grade 2 hurdle earlier this month and while he has yet to prove his ability to stay this distance, he holds Mozzies Sister on that Navan form and can be depended upon to again run well. It is interesting that Mozzies Sister herself steps up in distance, while Minella Sixo and Mister Pink are closely matched on a Thurles meeting, with both being proven stayers. The Big Westerner steps up from maiden company but is a staying type who should progress.

LADY OF THE LOCKE debuts in handicaps aged just four but has shown nice ability and can better her 105 rating. A debut bumper winner last March, she finished third at today's course on her jumps debut last April and on a strict line with that race's runner-up, Jeaniemacaroney, she now appears nicely treated. She ran well behind a smart winner in a big-field Cork maiden hurdle earlier this month and looks set for a bold bid. Ad Caelum defeated Inchiquin Star to win at Thurles last month and both should be competitive. Lep Around and The Big Cloud make their respective seasonal reappearances and both showed useful ability last term.

ENJOY THE DREAM has gained experience over fences recently and being a previous Grade 2 hurdle winner, is suited by conditions. She finished just 12 lengths behind Lossiemouth in April 2023 and while she returned from 359 days off last May, performed well enough in two recent smart chases and should now run well in a first-time tongue-tie, competing over a suitable distance. The returning Cayd Boy has form in this sphere but might struggle to beat the selection, while Foxy Girl was Listed-placed over hurdles and won a course hurdle here in December 2022. Release The Beast ran well on chase debut behind Ballyburn and has the size to do well in this sphere.

CHEERFUL CHAP has been running well and retains a favourable chase rating. A three-time hurdle winner and currently rated 117 in that sphere, the selection has been mildly frustrating in three chases this year, but nonetheless ran well each time and is suited by today's similar conditions. Cahirdown Boy has been running well and wasn't beaten too far in two runs since his Listowel success, while stablemate Dream In The Park seems reasonably treated on his return to chasing under a 7lb claimer. A dual hurdle winner in England in 2022, he was well held in a valuable Navan hurdle recently but had previously finished second here and reverts to fences rated slightly lower.

EARLY BIRD represents last year's winning trainer and, being nicely bred, might score on debut. Her trainer operates at a notably high strike-rate and as Early Bird is out of a bumper-winning mare and is by Annie Power's sire, she could be useful. Ufouria finished second to a smart type on debut here in October 2023 - with the third and fifth winning subsequently - and while she disappointed since, it is encouraging connections return her for another bumper. Forceonmyown's form was poor prior to winning a recent point-to-point and has joined a top yard, while Hurricane Bailey was reported to have been 'showing signs of tying up post race' after her January run, but had shown form last Christmas.
