Mr Mistoffelees was no slouch on the level either and it will be interesting to see how he fares in the betting on his NH debut, although point-to-point winner Idaho Valley might be the bigger threat.

Having found only a progressive chaser too strong at Kelso earlier in the month, DARE TO SHOUT holds leading claims in this small-field affair. A 1lb rise in the ratings shouldn't prevent another bold showing from Ann Hamilton's charge and compensation could be on the cards. Grand Albert made a promising chase bow when third to the highly-touted Caldwell Potter at Carlisle 26 days ago and he's feared most, ahead of The Four Sixes.

Cruden recorded a narrow win at Cork on his hurdles debut in October and he is of considerable interest now in the care of James Ewart, but HOSAAMM gets the vote. The son of Zoffany achieved a peak rating of 93 on the Flat before finishing second on his hurdling bow at Catterick earlier this month. The three-year-old ought to have learnt plenty from that experience and he is taken to go one place better. Belcamo and Fine Point are others to consider.
