Graze On Phoenix ran out of steam in the closing stages at Newcastle on his reappearance, but should prove competitive with that run under his belt, while C&D winner Tortured Soul's recent second at Kempton suggests he could have a say in the outcome.

GRABAJABBA showed a big improvement from his debut fourth here when making every yard over this trip at Southwell. Mick Appleby's charge is penalised for that success, but is clearly going in the right direction and could prove hard to peg back if allowed his own way in front once again. Bear Rock finished in front of the selection when runner-up over this course and distance on her latest start and looks likely to pose the biggest threat, while Expert Elsa may prove best of the remainder.

Flaine came out best at Southwell in a duel to the line with Mrbluesky and that pair are hard to separate. The latter's stablemate Hashtagnotions opened his account when fitted with visor at Newcastle and he should have more to offer, but QUEEN HIMIKO may edge affairs. Jane Chapple-Hyam's filly has improved with every start and is potentially well treated on her handicap debut having finished a creditable third in maiden company over this C&D last time.

MUMAYAZ benefited from returning to the minimum distance when second here last Saturday and the five-year-old makes plenty of appeal running off the same mark. Lady Nunthorpe lost all chance at the start on her latest effort at Newcastle and is better judged on her victory at Southwell the time before. Others for the shortlist include Popular Dream and Nelson Gay.

ROGUE THUNDER has dropped to a very fair mark and ran his best race for a while when third over C&D earlier in the month. This doesn't look a particularly strong event on paper and it may provide him the opportunity to gain a second career success. Neptune Legend has to enter the reckoning after his third at Lingfield, while Tilsworth Ony Ta's latest run at Southwell gives him every chance of being in the mix.

MASHAAN returned to winning ways over 7f here on Boxing Day when building on a solid fourth at Lingfield just four days prior and Alice Haynes' gelding looks capable of backing those efforts up, despite a 5lb penalty. Autumn Angel was only beaten three-quarters of a length by the selection that day and is likely to offer a strong challenge again on better terms, while Savalas and Bernie The Bear appeal most of the remainder.

Rated 109 at his peak when trained in Ireland, COACHELLO appears handily weighted from a mark of 92 and may be up to giving weight and a beating to the rest. The winner of four of his 10 previous starts on synthetics, the Mark Loughnane-trained six-year-old has nothing to fear from reverting to Tapeta and is a notable contender for a winter all-weather campaign. The recently-gelded Dyrholaey and Airman are forwarded as the pick of the three-year-olds.

This is an intriguing clash between several in-form rivals. The hat-tick seeking Harbour Vision and Port Erin, who were first and second in that order over 7f here in November, are closely matched. The latter subsequently won over 1m at Chelmsford and may be able to reverse the form over this longer trip. However, the well-handicapped LUNARSCAPE, who gamely won a similar event at Lingfield most recently, could be the answer. Freshened up by a break, this seems well within the versatile filly's reach despite a 3lb rise. Ciotog and Outrace are also feared.

Major Major and Vecchio are others with solid form claims, while Lhebayeb is also feared from a handy mark.
