DONNACHA had flashes of useful form over hurdles last term and he built on a low-key chasing debut to finish an admirable fourth in a deeper race over an extended 2m3f at Chepstow in November. Eased 2lb, the seven-year-old looks well capable of landing the spoils in a race of this nature. Western General plugged on into third after becoming outpaced over 2m at the same venue last time out and, stepping back up in trip off an unchanged mark, he looks the main danger. Royal Jewel completes the shortlist.

MUTLEY CREW made no mistake on her handicap debut over 2m3f at Fontwell in October, before running with plenty of credit in third off a 6lb higher mark over a furlong further at Plumpton last time out. She was doing her best work in the closing stages on that occasion and, with her stamina drawn out further here, she gets the nod to make light of a 1lb rise. Keable doubtless has the ability to play a hand in a race like this and a 3lb rise for his recent second over an extended 3m at Wincanton doesn't discount a bold bid. Inspector Lynley is also noteworthy.

A maiden hurdle winner here in April, SAINT CYR DE PAIL finished a respectable runner-up at Bangor for his handicap debut. This extra distance will likely bring further improvement and Jane Williams' charge looks the one to favour off his current mark. Paddys Island also appears to be fairly handicapped judged on his third at Stratford in October. He can feature again, while Danton reverts to hurdling with a chance if back on song.

CREST OF FORTUNE ran well again when second over today's distance in a competitive contest at Haydock. He was successful over 2m4f at Ffos Las before that with Kap Vert back in fifth and is taken to confirm superiority. The latter subsequently franked that form when successful over C&D and another good account seems assured, while Peacenik will be sharper for a comeback run at Newbury in November and looks best of the remainder.

BOYS OF WEXFORD had over four lengths to spare when scoring from Joe Cotton at Fontwell on his penultimate outing, and a 5lb pull in the favour of the latter may not be enough to overturn that form. Henry Oliver's charge has since run with plenty of credit over 2m5f at Hereford and he can notch up a third career success. Placed on two starts over C&D last season, Flash Gorcombe is another to consider.

Of those with experience, Kripticjim stands out after a relatively promising debut at Newton Abbot.
