CARLTON accounted for Lumberjack by just under a length when successfully completing a C&D double last time, retaining his unbeaten record since joining the James Owen yard. Alex The Great finished a respectable third at Southwell on his most recent outing and should go well off an unchanged mark, while Black Smoke is another to note.

THE OUTLAW was heavily backed on his handicap debut over 7f at Southwell last week but showed signs of greenness when overhauled by a progressive filly inside the final furlong. However, the son of New Bay was clear of the rest on that occasion and looks worth persevering with, given tonight's additional furlong could draw further improvement. Khutulun, a 7f winner here on her penultimate start, looks the chief danger, although Majestic Heights is notable with cheekpieces added.
