Tawalla has to be of interest given his connections and encouraging efforts over 7f in November. However, this sharp 5f could catch him out and preference is for the very well-handicapped THUNDER OF NIAGARA. The unexposed son of Siyouni made a winning handicap debut over 1m4f at Newmarket in August and, given the strength of that form, a 3lb rise may vastly underestimate Charlie Appleby's gelding. Kalidasa would be a big threat to his stablemate if leaving a poor effort at Sandown behind him, and a subsequent gelding operation may help with that. Aldhaja and Valdivia could make the frame if transferring their recent dirt form to turf, while Gareth and Maydanny merit each-way consideration.
