The five-year-old competes from an unchanged mark today and should this pan out more favourably, he should go very close. Hedonista hit the woodwork at Newcastle earlier this month so is a leading candidate on that piece of form, while Sharp Distinction, who returns to the Flat having struggled over hurdles at Southwell last time out, is also noted.

The vote goes to LORD RAPSCALLION, who caught the eye when fifth in behind Charlie Mason (second) and Lahina Bay (third) over C&D earlier this month. Stuart Williams' charge was travelling best of all approaching the two furlong marker but couldn't recover having been short of room. Eased 1lb for his troubles, he can reverse that form with those two rivals to claim victory. Lady Wingalong is another to consider.

Roger Varian's gelding, a half-brother to the useful Sakheer, doesn't look particularly well handicapped from an opening mark of 77. However, he is unlikely to have reached the ceiling of his ability and may well go on to better things. Master Of My Fate defeated Nogo's Dream (second) over track and trip recently and he can confirm his superiority, despite being 3lb worse off.

HUMAM confirmed the promise of his debut Newmarket third when going one better at Doncaster. On that evidence, a race such as this should be well within range and the son of Kodiac is a half-brother to classy sprinter Vadream, who is more than adept on an artificial surface. Cluster One made an encouraging start at Wolverhampton, and Backspin took a step in the right direction at Southwell. Well Enough's penalty makes life difficult, while Panelli was fancied to perform much better than he did at Newmarket and has been gelded since.

He can defy his penalty, although The Thames Boatman was a good second here on the same day and looks very dangerous. He had Mc Loven half a length back in third when successful at this venue in September and that one has since gone close again at Lingfield. Monsieur Beaulieu has held his form really well since switching to the all-weather and is another to consider.

ROBBO bounced back to form when a neck second in a competitive event over 7f at Kempton when last seen in October. A reproduction of that performance would give him a big chance here, despite a 2lb rise. Invincible Aura scored over C&D earlier in the month and has to be of interest as a result, while So Quiet and Orbaan are others who could go well.

The unexposed SANTORINI STAR appeared to have plenty in hand when making a winning handicap debut over C&D last month. The daughter of Golden Horn is likely to have plenty of improvement left to come and a 6lb rise may not be enough to stop her here. That said, Charlotte's Web is also going in the right direction and should not be underestimated. Imperial Express edges out Elladonna and Power Of Destiny to be best of the rest.
