Steve Ryder names his best bets for the day, with both selections at Wolverhampton.
18:30 Wolverhampton
There is jumps racing at Chepstow, Newcastle and Limerick on Tuesday 28th January, while Wolverhampton hosts an evening all-weather meeting.
Today’s Best Bets from Steve Ryder
Destructive could prove ahead of his official rating of 85 on his handicap but preference instead goes to INVINCIBLE AURA (best priced at 10/3) who has shown improved form since the application of cheekpieces on the AW. The Marco Botti trained four-year-old has form figures of 12313 under those conditions including a victory at Lingfield earlier this month off a mark of 76.
Invincible Aura was beaten less than a length in Class 3 company last time off a mark of 80 and runs here off only a 1lb higher mark in this race. Marco Ghiani should be able to get a good early position from Stall 1 and he looks the one to beat.
19:00 Wolverhampton
This looks a competitive 0-72 handicap but a chance is taken on LOVESICK (best priced at 4/1) on her handicap debut. The Richard Spencer trained filly won a maiden over this course and distance in December by a neck before finishing 3rd beaten less than two lengths under a penalty at Chelmsford earlier this month over a mile.
Lovesick now makes her handicap debut off a mark of 70 and should be suited by this drop back down to 7f given how keenly she raced over the longer distance last time. She faces similarly unexposed rivals but she looks sure to be involved in the finish.
