Today’s Best Bets from Steve Ryder
One Last Glance is respected following his victory at Fakenham on New Year’s Day but he is now 6lbs higher and a chance instead is taken on KINGS JUSTICE (best priced at 8/1) on his return to Catterick. The Sam Allwood trained seven-year-old has form figures of 212B at the track including a victory off a mark of 77.
Kings Justice can be excused his reappearance run at Southwell over hurdles as that was his first start for 223 days and that should put him spot on for this return to chasing. He remains competitively handicapped off a mark of 83 and he looks overpriced with Toby Wynne taking off a handy 3lbs.
13:45 Lingfield
This looks a competitive 0-105 handicap chase but preference goes to ALWAYS BUSY (best priced at 15/8) who runs here from 5lbs “well in” at the weights under a 7lb penalty. The Christian Williams trained seven-year-old has progressed with each of his starts over fences and comes into the race following an impressive ten length victory at Warwick last time.
The handicapper has raised Always Busy 12lbs for that success so connections turn him out quickly under a 7lb penalty and he is expected to follow up with Jack Tudor retaining the ride.
15:15 Lingfield
RAPID MISSION (best priced at 7/2) has been a NR when put up for races twice this month and hopefully connections have now found him a race they see suitable for him. The four-year-old won off a mark of 80 on the flat for Joseph O’Brien before being well beaten in three juvenile hurdles when sent off 20/1, 100/1 and 50/1.
Rapid Mission now returns from 75 days off the track and makes his handicap debut over hurdles off a mark of 87. The previous races he was declared for her open 0-100 handicaps but this is a 0-95 novices’ handicap hurdle so it looks an easier task and he can get off the mark over hurdles with Callum Pritchard taking off 5lbs.
