The Nick Alexander trained eight-year-old has form figures of 1111F over obstacles at the track and he was still in contention when falling over 3 miles on his most recent start at the venue in November.
Artic Row travelled best of all into the race at Newcastle last time but eventually finished 3rd beaten 1 ½ lengths having sustained an overreach during the race. He runs here off the same mark of 115 and he should get back to winning ways at his favoured track.
14:55 Lingfield
The Nick Gifford trained AWORKINPROGRESS (best priced at 15/8) has won by less than 1 ½ lengths in his three chase victories meaning that he could still prove well handicapped despite racing off an 18lb higher mark.
The winning sequence started over hurdles a year ago before winning by 1 ¼ lengths on his chasing debut at Stratford in October. Two course and distance victories have followed including when winning on soft ground by ¾ length last time off a mark of 109.
The handicapper has raised Aworkinprogress 5lbs for that victory and he should prove hard to beat with James Davies once again on board.

This looks a competitive 0-78 handicap but preference goes to SAX APPEAL (best priced at 5/1) who won easily when fitted with first-time blinkers over this course and distance last time.
The Charlie Johnston trained five-year-old looked a non-stayer over 2 miles on his penultimate start but he made most of the running last time in first-time headgear when ridden by Callum Shepherd for the first time in his career.
The handicapper has raised Sax Appeal 5lbs for a 2 ¼ length success which is fair and he should be able to get a good early position from Stall 3.
