Steve Ryder runs through the key races on 16th February and names his best bets for the day.

There is jumps racing at Musselburgh on Sunday 16th February while Lingfield stages an all-weather meetings this afternoon.

Today’s Best Bets from Steve Ryder

Rosenpur comes here off the back of a victory but Stall 10 over 5f will prove difficult and preference instead goes to MICK’S SPIRIT (best priced at 5/1) who comes from the plum draw in Stall 1. The Conrad Allen trained seven-year-old ran below form on his first run back but made all here from Stall 1 last time in a 0-72 handicap, springing a surprise at an SP of 25/1.

The handicapper has raised Mick’s Spirit only 2lbs for that victory and this is technically an easier grade in this 0-68 handicap. Daniel Muscutt takes over on board and he can hopefully make all once again.

1:22 Lingfield- Mick’s Spirit 5/1 (1pt)

The Jennie Candlish stable remain in fantastic form with a 32% strike rate and 72% RTF and she should hold strong claims of another winner with the consistent FRANKIES DREAM (best priced at 5/2). The three-year-old has recent form figures of 122112 and his most recent runner-up effort can be upgraded as he had to wait for room 2f out.

Off the same mark in this race, Frankies Dream can hopefully get the gaps at the right time and repeat his course and distance success from three weeks ago.
