Steve Ryder runs through the key races on 19th February and names his best bets for the day.

There is jumps racing at Doncaster and Ludlow on Wednesday 19th February while Kempton stages an all-weather meeting this evening.

Today’s Best Bets from Steve Ryder

This looks a competitive 0-65 handicap but it looks a good opportunity for PARTY BEAR (best priced at 10/3) to record the first victory of her career. The Karl Burke trained three-year-old caught the eye in her final two qualifying runs before finishing 2nd by a head at Wolverhampton on her handicap debut following a 187-day break.

This switch to Kempton should suit her running style more than Wolverhampton and Party Bear runs here off only a 2lb higher mark. She should be suited by this step up in trip and can get off the mark under Pierre-Louis Jamin.

19:30 Kempton

Mesaafi was an impressive winner in first-time blinkers last time at Newcastle but he runs off 6lb higher here at a track where he is 0-3. Preference instead goes to four-time course and distance winner GRENHAM BAY (best priced at 10/3) who comes into the race in good form. The Andrew Balding trained five-year-old has shown improved form since the application of blinkers with form figures of 131 and his defeat can be excused as he didn’t get the clearest of runs.

Grenham Bay has been raised 5lbs for his latest victory which is fair and he can hopefully follow up in this race from Stall 2.
