Today’s Best Bets from Steve Ryder
The Declan Queally trained BACCHANALIAN (best priced at 13/8) found Grade 1 company too tough at the Dublin Racing festival but a repeat of his latest course and distance victory should be good enough to follow up. The four-year-old made all last time on soft ground under Sean O’Keefe and those tactics are likely to be repeated on this heavy ground.
Bacchanalian has to concede weight to all of his rivals but should put his experience to use and he is expected to win this Grade 3 having been taken out of the Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
2:20 Naas- Bacchanalian 13/8 (1pt)

This looks a competitive handicap hurdle but preference goes to DUKE OF LEGGAGH (best priced at 5/1) who got off the mark over hurdles last time over this course and distance. The five-year-old finished down the field in his three qualifying runs before finishing 3rd on his handicap debut at Fairyhouse. He showed a good attitude to win by a neck over this course and distance last time under Patrick O’Brien in a restricted rider’s race.
The handicapper has raised Duke Of Leggagh 7lbs for that victory which seems harsh but himself and runner-up did pull 8 ½ lengths clear of the third. Patrick O’Brien can now claim his 7lb allowance which negates his rise and he looks sure to be involved in the finish with four places widely available.
3:20 Naas- Duke Of Leggagh 5/1 (0.5pt ew)
