The topweight BUTCHERS BILL (best priced at 11/2) was set some tough tasks on his first three starts behind the likes of Kopek Des Bordes, Kaid d’Authie and Will The Wise but ran better last time at Fairyhouse when fitted with first-time cheekpieces.

Butchers Bill finished 4th that day and has now been given an opening mark of 100 for his handicap debut. That could seriously underestimate this brother to Romeo Coolio and he can win this with Sam Ewing on board for the first time.

TRIPLE CROWN TED (best priced at 10/11) was beaten by a Paul & Clare Rooney owned debutant last time and they appear to have the biggest danger in Keep Tabs On You in this race.

The Lucinda Russell trained five-year-old was a well-supported even money favourite that day when he finished 2nd despite showing inexperience in the middle part of the race.

 

That debut run came on soft ground so Triple Crown Ted looks sure to handle these testing conditions and he is expected to prove hard to beat if replicating the form of that run.

The likes of Stay Around, Sonic Pioneer, Boundless Poet and Unfortunate Heir could prove well in on their handicap debuts but the standard is no doubt set by the consistent MANTON ROAD (best priced at 11/2). The three-year-old has form figures of 321132 since joining Gay Kelleway with both of those victories coming at this track.

Manton Road finished a head 2nd behind the favourite at Newcastle last time but pulled 3 ½ lengths clear of the third that day. A 2lb rise is fair and if delivered later by Billy Loughnane then he looks sure to be involved in the finish with four places widely available.
