Best bets for the day from Steve Ryder and Oddschecker Unlimited tipsters, as well as key races to follow.
14:25 Bangor
With Wincanton abandoned, we are left with jumps racing at Wetherby and Bangor on Wednesday 26th February while Kempton stages an all-weather meeting tonight.
Today’s Best Bets from Steve Ryder
With four of his rivals out of the handicap, this looks a good opportunity for JACKPOT CASH (best priced at 5/6) to make it 2/2 for James Owen. The six-year-old was 0-8 for Evan Williams with his best effort a 3rd place finish in a novice hurdle but made a winning stable debut at Southwell a week ago off a mark of 97.
Jackpot Cash won comfortably by 2 ¾ lengths that day the handicapper has raised him 6lbs to a mark of 103 over hurdles. He now reverts back to chasing off a mark of 92 so he should prove well handicapped if he manages to transfer that improvement.
14:45 Wetherby
This looks a weak 0-120 handicap and preference goes to top weight MICKS JET (best priced at 11/4) who won by 18 lengths here on his penultimate start.
The Philip Kirby trained seven-year-old won by 18 lengths in first time cheekpieces over 2m3½f here in January off a mark of 105 before finishing 2nd beaten only ¾ length at Bangor earlier this month off a mark of 115.
Micks Jet pulled 2½ lengths clear of the third that day so a 4lb rise from the handicapper is fair and he should be able to win this off top weight with Joe Williamson once again claiming 3lbs.
18:00 Kempton
The Mark Loughnane trained FOLLOW YOUR HEART (best priced at 10/3) is a four-time course and distance winner and should be able to confirm form with the re-opposing Hieronymus.
The seven-year-old won here in October off a mark of 76 before winning here last time by ½ length beating Hieronymus by ½ length under a well-timed ride by Warren Fentiman in an apprentice handicap.
That rival gets a 2lb swing in the weights but with Billy Loughnane back on board, Follow Your Heart should be able to follow up.
