CRESCENT MOON (15/2) was a real eye catcher two starts ago at Cork. She bombed out on her last start but I’m willing to forgive that run and chance her again in this. She comes in to this race for her third crack at a handicap and appears to be another one from the Gavin Cromwell yard, who is on a very nice mark and should progress further for the drop into this sort of level.
She travelled through the race at Cork, very nicely, and cut through the field before being given a relatively easy time of things, given that the winner was long gone, and due to the held up running style, she had no chance of competing with Warden’s Whisper but everything about that performance would suggest that it’s a matter of time before she’s in the winners enclosure.
Keith Donoghue takes over from Conor Stone-Walsh, in the saddle and both he and Trainer, Gavin Cromwell, have been in fine form this season and I wouldn’t anticipate that form to be ending, any time soon. BOG advised.
