This doesn't look the deepest race of it's type and a tentative vote goes to LOOKING SPLENDID. He was far from disgraced when third over 2m4f at Musselburgh last month and it would be no surprise if he were up to the task racing off an unchanged mark. On The Go hasn't cut much ice in his three qualifying runs but better can be expected now pitched into handicap company for the first time. Lathan is another for the shortlist, although his inconsistency is a concern.

PASSENGERONTHESHIP shaped with plenty of promise when finishing runner-up over this trip at Southwell last time out and, upped 3lb since, he could prove tough to stop with a repeat of that effort. Jingle Jangle Jet arrives on the back of a couple of solid placed efforts and another prominent showing looks likely, while the relatively unexposed The Dark Edge looks the pick of the remainder.

LOW MILEAGE was only beaten a neck into second over 2m4f at Musselburgh a couple of weeks ago and a 2lb rise may not be enough to stop him from going one better here. Ceolwulf also hit the crossbar on his most recent outing and could prove to be the main threat to the selection, although Diamond Mix and Flash Du Pistolet should not be discounted.

A winner of two of his last three starts, The Paddy Pie is a key player, along with Court At Slip, who wasn't beaten far over 3m6f at Catterick in January and scored over C&D on his penultimate outing.

GEORDIE MACKEM improved from his first to second start when a promising second over C&D last time out, and he sets the standard on the back of that effort. Point-to-point winner Tiptoptim didn't shaped with encouragement when third over further at Plumpton on debut and he should be thereabouts, along with Big Wigg and Luckie Devil, who look to be the pick of the newcomers.
