Today’s Best Bets from Steve Ryder
This 0-60 handicap is full of unexposed three-year-olds but the application of first time cheekpieces and the step up in trip should mean that ALL COST (best priced at 3/1) gets off the mark on his second handicap start.
The Martin Dunne trained gelding finished well beaten on his three qualifying runs when sent off 150/1, 300/1 and 400/1 before nearly landing a gamble when backed into 2/1 favourite on his handicap debut.
All Cost finished 2nd by a short head that day off a mark of 55 staying on strongly at the finish. Connections now step him up in trip to 1m2f for the first time and fit him with first time cheekpieces for this race. Off only a 1lb higher mark, he should prove hard to beat from Stall 3.
19:00 Kempton
ENPASSANT (best priced at 5/2) has a good record at Kempton since joining Stuart Williams and he can record and second course and distance success of his career.
The four-year-old finished 3rd here in January off a mark of 66 when beaten only 1½ lengths before winning by a neck on his next start off a mark of 65.
Enpassant didn’t get the clearest of runs when 3rd last time at Chelmsford but this return to Kempton will suit him well and he looks the one to beat off the same mark.
20:00 Kempton
This looks a competitive 0-80 handicap but the one who looks overpriced is ULTRAMARINE (best priced at 10/1). The David Evans trained six-year-old has form figures of 117263 at the track including a victory over 7f here last year off a mark of 76.
Ultramarine caught the eye last time when he didn’t get the clearest of runs over 7f and this drop back to 6f shouldn’t inconvenience him. Bookmakers are offering up to four places and he looks sure to be involved in the finish.
