SPECULATRIX won a Punchestown bumper on debut but certainly hasn't enjoyed much luck over hurdles. The selection was set to score when falling at the last in Killarney last autumn and following two disappointing efforts, suffered another final flight exit at Navan earlier this month. The Gordon Elliott-trained mare held a slight advantage when again falling at the last in the maiden won by stablemate Swing Davis, with Magic Day beaten over 20 lengths in third. Cork bumper winner Ufouria and Billie Frechette are others to consider.
Prediction : 1st Speculatrix 2nd Magic Day 3rd Billie Frechette

SMALL DOSES stepped up on the form of his first two runs over hurdles and caught the attention of the stewards when staying on into fourth behind Ethical Diamond at Punchestown last month. The selection is reportedly a temperamental gelding but may have found a good opportunity to open his account in this race for horses that have yet to finish in the first three. Beckistine has been soundly beaten in three bumper outings but is an obvious threat on his only hurdle run at Limerick where he'd just struck the front when falling at the final flight. Half Past Tipsy and Ned In The Park look the pick of the remainder.
Prediction : 1st Small Doses 2nd Beckistine 3rd Half Past Tipsy

IMADPOUR won a Cork maiden as a juvenile for Mick Halford but has been generally disappointing since under both codes until running a cracker on just his second start for Ian Donoghue at Leopardstown earlier this month when beaten just over two lengths in third behind the well backed Darcy's Friend. Solsbury Hill showed improved form to land an 18-runner maiden on the same Leopardstown card, while Onlymammycanloveme has a similar profile having won a maiden last time at Clonmel and also tackles handicap company for the first time. The Dawn has been placed on his latest two starts including when runner-up to Apologise over this trip at Clonmel while others for the shortlist include Tyson and Mercury Mission.
Prediction : 1st Imadpour 2nd Solsbury Hill 3rd Onlymammycanloveme

CAPPUCINO won a bumper in good style at the Listowel Festival and again made all the following month in a Punchestown maiden hurdle. The selection ran a bit too keenly last time when sixth to McLaurey in a valuable handicap at the Dublin Racing Festival and should appreciate this drop in class. Addragoole gained a deserved win when scoring easily at Clonmel last month while others to consider include Balko D'ange and Fiveonefive. The latter won a decent handicap at Cartmel last summer and while no match for Clarens at Navan last time, may have benefitted from a four-month break.
Prediction : 1st Cappucino 2nd Addragoole 3rd Fiveonefive

MAJESTIC FORCE was useful over hurdles last season winning a Punchestown maiden and far from disgraced when fifth to Golden Ace at the Cheltenham Festival. The point-to-point winner made a bright start switching to fences this term over 2m5f at Cork when only caught close home by Spindleberry, who went on to score at Listed level. A disappointing run subsequently at Naas can be forgiven as the yard was out of form. Cuta Des As was well held in fourth behind the selection in the aforementioned Cork event, while point-to-point winner Zefiro Dodville hasn't been seen since landing a Down Royal maiden hurdle 16 months ago.
Prediction : 1st Majestic Force 2nd Zefiro Dodville 3rd Cuta Des As

LETTERS TO JULIET switches to fences having been let down by jumping errors on her latest two starts over hurdles. She has been poised to challenge on both occasions and hopefully will have a bit more respect for fences. Bite That is bidding to bridge a long gap since winning over hurdles at Tramore and the Pat Flynn-trained gelding has filled the runner-up spot on his last four outings including behind the progressive Portarlington at Tramore last time with Da Big Fella well held in sixth. Junot was placed on his only previous run over fences and was a creditable fifth last time in a 22-runner Cork handicap hurdle.
Prediction : 1st Letters To Juliet 2nd Bite That 3rd Junot

THEFLYINGKING won a point-to-point for Donnchadh Doyle and has gone close on both bumper starts for current connections. The selection was caught close home at Fairyhouse last time and the form of that race has worked out well since. Hank West is an obvious threat having easily won a Lisronagh point-to-point in November and was bought later that month for 195,000 pounds. Kilgame has shown promise on both hurdle starts including behind Kel Histoire at Cork, while Faithful Follower merits respect if reproducing his second to the long odds-on Classical Creek at Down Royal.
Prediction : 1st Theflyingking 2nd Hank West 3rd Kilgame
