19:00 Kempton

There is jumps racing at Market Rasen and Hereford on Wednesday 26th March while Kempton stages an all-weather meeting tonight.

Today’s Best Bets from Steve Ryder

7:00 Kempton - Heathcliff 4/1 (1pt ew)

This looks a competitive renewal of this race which makes the hat-trick bid of Mount Athos more difficult. Roi De France, who ran well here in a listed race last time, is also respected but preference instead goes to HEATHCLIFF (best priced at 4/1) who is unbeaten in his three starts over 7f. The James Fanshawe trained four-year-old won in November off a mark of 85 before finishing a close 4th behind Marshman over 6f at Newcastle off a mark of 91.

Heathcliff was only beaten a neck over 6f here last time off a mark of 91 and the handicapper has only raised him 1lb for that narrow defeat. Well drawn to get a good position under Daniel Muscutt from Stall 2, he looks to hold strong claims in this race and it will be disappointing to see him out of the places.

8:00 Kempton - Ten Club 8/1 (0.5pt ew)

TEN CLUB (best priced at 8/1) had shown his best form at this track when trained by Jamie Osbourne and he has now dropped below his previous winning mark. The four-year-old finished 4th beaten only 1 ½ lengths here in May off a mark of 67 before defying odds of 25/1 to win here off a mark of 64 in September.

Now trained by Adrian Wintle, Ten Club has been dropped 4lbs for his two defeats this year which means he is now rated only 62. His two career victories have come off marks of 60 and 64 so he looks well handicapped on his return to Kempton and back over 6f.
