Johnny Murtagh has started the season in fine form and TASHIR can give him another winner. The Kingman colt shaped really well on his sole start last term when chasing home Monumental at Gowran in September. That form looks strong, with the winner finishing runner-up in Group 2 company subsequently. Omni Man has the benefit of an outing this term, when losing out in a tight finish at Navan 11 days ago, and he is entitled to play a big role again. Jagged Edge also has placed form this year, having been third at Dundalk, and is another who has to be on the shortlist.
Prediction : 1st Tashir 2nd Omni Man 3rd Jagged Edge

A couple in this with Classic entries and CURRAWOOD may prove the pick. The Paddy Twomey-trained colt made a winning return on the all-weather at Dundalk last month having bumped into some smart types as a juvenile, including Derby favourite The Lion In Winter. Rowdy Yeats also has a win under his belt this year, scoring with a bit in hand at Naas, and he could be the danger. Irish 1,000 Guineas entry Va Va Vroom ran with credit in a couple of stakes races last term and was a bit unlucky on her final outing at Dundalk. She's another who has to be considered.
Prediction : 1st Currawood 2nd Rowdy Yeats 3rd Va Va Vroom

GENUINE JIM ran a big race on his return at Leopardstown late last month and may be able to go one better. The Galileo Gold entire stayed on well when getting within a head of Brains and looks capable of another big run, despite a 2lb rise. Royal Pippen also ran well when third at Gowran on his comeback run and, off the same mark, he could be a big player. Notforalongtime comes here in fine form from Dundalk and is another who has to be respected.
Prediction : 1st Genuine Jim 2nd Royal Pippen 3rd Notforalongtime

WATERFORD FLOW comes here fit from the all-weather and may be able to get his head in front. The Ghaiyyath colt was edged out by Tiberius Thunder on his most recent outing at Dundalk and that form looks good now with the winner going on to finish third in the Group 3 Ballysax Stakes. Dermot Weld-trained newcomers are always worth noting around here and money for Kasgani, a Sea The Stars colt out of Group 3 winner Kastasa, would be noteworthy. Kingstonian was no match for the impressive Eastwatch at Gowran, but could be place material again.
Prediction : 1st Waterford Flow 2nd Kasgani 3rd Kingstonian

KIBRIS may prove the pick here. The Lope De Vega colt won a Curragh maiden on debut last November, but failed to make much impression in the Ballysax Stakes on his return after missing the kick. This is easier and any rain that falls should help. Stablemate Emit won a maiden on his third outing last year before also finding Group 3 company tougher at Leopardstown. He could be the danger. Carolina Jetstream comes here in fine form from Dundalk and although her official mark of 91 suggests she has a bit to find, it would be no surprise if she ran a big race.
Prediction : 1st Kibris 2nd Emit 3rd Carolina Jetstream

One-time Classic hope LOPE DE LILAS is interesting on her handicap debut. The Willie Mullins-trained filly was impressive when winning her maiden at Leopardstown last May, but weakened at the business end when pitched into the Irish Oaks subsequently. She also made little impression in Listed company on her final start of 2024, but looks on a fair mark of 92. Money Dancer ran well to chase home Hurricane Ivor on her return to the Flat at Naas and could be a danger. The admirable San Andreas is on a nice turf mark and is another to note.
Prediction : 1st Lope De Lilas 2nd Money Dancer 3rd San Andreas

MOCKING didn't have a great passage on his handicap debut at Leopardstown late last month and looks capable of scoring off this mark. The Tamayuz gelding was short of room early in the straight and got slightly hampered inside the final furlong before finishing fourth to Serious Contender. There should be more to come. Junkyard Dog was well backed when scoring on his return at Navan 11 days ago and has to be respected. An 8lb hike makes life a bit tougher, though. Ballydoyle filly Happiest had a couple of nice runs in maidens last year and is another to note on her handicap debut.
Prediction : 1st Mocking 2nd Junkyard Dog 3rd Happiest

TATUM ran well on her return at Gowran Park early in the month and may be able to go one better. The Postponed filly couldn't match Thatwilldoso in the closing stages and stepping up in trip might help her. Arthur Rose stayed on from the rear to finish fifth at the Curragh last month and it's interesting that connections try a mile and a half again with the speedily-bred filly. Gardone was just edged out in a tight finish at Dundalk recently and he's another who has to come into the mix.
Prediction : 1st Tatum 2nd Arthur Rose 3rd Gardone
