ENGLISH OAK progressed up the handicap ranks which culminated with an impressive display in the Buckingham Palace at Royal Ascot. The five-year-old's best effort up in class came when runner-up in Listed company at Newbury and, having been gelded at the end of last season, appears to have an excellent opportunity to get back to winning ways. Skukuza was runner-up in the Britannia and makes his first appearance since with strong credentials, while Cerulean Bay and Yorkshire appear best of the remainder.

AFLOAT caught the eye when failing get a clear run at Leicester on her first run for new connections and dropping back in trip looks like a good move for the five-year-old. A mark of 76 seems manageable and she is narrowly preferred to unexposed handicap debutant Roland Garros, as well as Azahara Palace, who ended last season with two solid placed efforts. Hamlet's Night and Live Aid cannot be ruled out either.

Others to note include Bear Rock, Roaring Ralph and Roundhay Park.

A mark of 68 could prove lenient for Lord Capulet on his handicap debut, while Vault Of Heaven ran a career-best when narrowly denied at Newcastle in November and may have more to offer.

She missed the break over 7f at Newbury on her introduction, but finished strongly to take fourth and the daughter of Dubawi is taken to build on that promising effort. Silver Chamber is another likely to improve over today's longer trip, having shown some ability over 7f at Newmarket on debut, while Blue Wonder should have more to offer based on a couple of respectable efforts on the all-weather. Bintalina and Althawaqeb are newcomers to note.
