Leading apprentice Jack Doughty teaming up with KING'S SCHOLAR could be a winning partnership. The in-form rider has picked up where he left off last season and he looks an ideal partner for Ed Walker's returning four-year-old, who is already a winner over this trip and resumes from a very workable rating. Previous C&D winner Destinado has been in good heart of late and is feared the most, although Tipsy Tiger and William Walton help to make this competitive.
Prediction : 1st Kings Scholar 2nd Destinado 3rd Tipsy Tiger

KIPP KELLY has been threatening to make the most of a plummeting handicap mark and is tentatively forwarded as a likely key player. A close second over this trip at Wolverhampton on Monday, Derek Shaw's four-year-old won't need much of a step forward to make the most of getting weight all round here. Street Life was third in that race and should again be on the premises, while Stroxx and Lynwood Lad are others who could have a big say.
Prediction : 1st Kipp Kelly 2nd Street Life 3rd Stroxx

VAMP is an attractive proposition for a race of this nature and is the obvious starting point given the daughter of Mehmas sets the standard on the official rating after three encouraging starts. Musical Angel has winners in her pedigree and is another key player returning in the famous colours of Jeff Smith. This is also a decent starting point for her three-year-old season and support in the betting would make her very tempting. Honest Courtesan and Bint Elnadim Star are others to keep an eye on.
Prediction : 1st Vamp 2nd Musical Angel 3rd Honest Courtesan

On target over C&D in March before going on to repeat the dose six days later, a confident vote goes to DOWN TO THE KID. Michael Herrington's six-year-old is still attractively handicapped, despite a further 3lb rise, and this does not look the deepest of contests. Jack Daniel had previously been beaten by the selection but posted a narrow second earlier this month and he remains of interest, along with Milteye, who shaped with real promise on his stable debut at Pontefract recently.
Prediction : 1st Down To The Kid 2nd Jack Daniel 3rd Milteye

A few of these arrive in fine form but the vote goes to REGINALD CHARLES. The son of Zoustar returned from a 381-day absence when successful over C&D before going on to record a cosy triumph at Newcastle next time. The handicapper has since had his say, but given past exploits, a 6lb rise should be no barrier to further success. Fistral Beach has won three of her last four racecourse appearances and she looks certain to continue that upward trajectory, while others to note include King Of York and Billy McGarry.
Prediction : 1st Reginald Charles 2nd Fistral Beach 3rd King Of York

MATTICE was relatively prominent in the betting when returning to action in a competitive Doncaster event in March and although the six-year-old ultimately disappointed, he might be worth chancing. With just four starts on an artificial surface, including when narrowly denied at Newcastle from 1lb lower in December, the application of first-time blinkers could help eke out a bit more. Beelzebub wasn't able to justify favouritism at Leicester recently but further support would be noteworthy today. Hierarchy is also noted.
Prediction : 1st Mattice 2nd Beelzebub 3rd Hierarchy
