SUNWAY (best price 4/1) wasn’t able to sustain his position when looking the most likely winner on his return over C&D when third, but he’ll be fitter now, and he is a great price to potentially take the opener.

This Group 1 winner finished runner-up in last season’s Irish Derby and boasts the best form in the race. It’s a big day for David Menuisier and I think this high-class horse has a great chance of providing Kieran Shoemark with a welcome winner.

In the Lockinge Stakes, TAMFANA (best price 5/1) gets my vote. She has some very high-class form in the book and has so much more to come on this sort of ground.

She would have needed her comeback run last time out when second round Dancing Gemini and a strongly-run race should play to the strengths of this filly, who has been aimed at this for a long time.

She comfortably beat See The Fire in last season’s Group 1 Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket and that form reads well given the winner bolted up at York earlier this week. She makes plenty of appeal to me at the odds.
