First Ever is interesting after her point-to-point third and is well worth a market watch for any signs of confidence. Flat winner Bittalemon has to be considered on her first start over obstacles.

Pateen won this last season and is back for more off just 2lb higher, but he is 13 now and cannot realistically be expected to find much improvement. Secret Secret has a two-out-of-three record over C&D and warrants plenty of respect, but SUPREME YEATS is narrowly preferred. Two victories over hurdles include one over this trip at Stratford, and the nine-year-old was a solid enough second off this mark when last seen at Worcester in August.

TOMMIE BEAU returns to hurdles for the first time since last summer after running well over fences since, albeit without success. He won this race last year and should be spot-on after his Fakenham second over the larger obstacles earlier in the month. Musique De Fee has been a revelation in cheekpieces and is another to take seriously, although she did battle hard for third here on Saturday. Wbee claimed this prize in 2021 and 2022 so is one to consider for the places at least.

ILIKEDWAYURTHINKIN faded out of contention in the Eider at Newcastle in February, but he may be better judged on his second at Ayr prior. The 11-year-old is a dual course scorer and it would be no surprise to see him regain the winning thread. Siberian Star occupied the runner-up berth at Perth and has to be considered, despite his 2lb higher mark. Fuji Flight is another to note.

ARTHUR'S QUAY struck in good style in this class at Newcastle in February and might have been let off lightly with only a 5lb rise. Ben Haslam's charge remains on a workable mark and can complete a double. Cuzco Du Mathan bolted up over track and trip last August and if the seven-year-old returns in similar form, he ought to have a say. Grey Diamond is another to keep an eye on.

SPYGLASS HILL makes plenty of appeal on the back of a creditable second in a more competitive handicap at Newton Abbot. Barry Brennan's veteran still looks capable of winning off his current mark and is marginally preferred to Captain Ivan, who has won two of his last three starts and registered a comfortable success in a lower-grade chase at Haydock last time. High Moon may prove best of the remainder.

HOLLYWOOD HARMON was no match for the first two home when third in last year's renewal, but this appears less competitive. She has won a few point-to-points this year and looks set to make a bold bid back over regulation fences. Torngat went close in a hunter chase at Kelso last year and could feature, while Carriglux and Titanium Bullet are last-start winners between the flags at Charm Park.
