UK Horse Racing Tips: Wexford

BEACON EDGE concedes plenty weight but is a former Grade 1-winner who contests a winnable claimer. Winner of the 2021 Drinmore Chase, he was Grade 1-placed as recently as last December and, despite being an 11-year-old, has run some useful races in defeat this year. Must Meet Cecil is helped by his rider's 5lb claim and while he landed a similar claimer at Tramore last month, was well held at Killarney subsequently. Six-time Redwood Queen would have strong claims on best form but was well held on a recent reappearance run.

DUKE OF LEGGAGH has been kept busy and continues to hold form. A dual handicap hurdle winner at Naas in February, he is forgiven his latest pulled-up effort over hurdles as he was reported to have lost his left fore shoe in-running and has since recaptured his form on the Flat. Sunchart retains smart Flat ability and scored at Listed level in March. He remains somewhat unexposed as he is lightly raced in this sphere but wouldn't want quick ground. Grimaud is next best.

Course-and-distance winner ONEBRIGHTBLUEROSE has shown much much more than her rivals and will skim across this surface. Although last July's course success was her sole win in 28 starts, she was beaten just a half-length in a Tramore chase in April. Chesterbaylad showed some encouragement at Down Royal earlier this month and being a four-year-old, can progress. My Good Pal was well enough held in three runs for current connections, while Sidiriya, a Flat maiden winner in 2022, has disappointed over hurdles but wasn't beaten too far at Navan in March.

TELNOBODY's form was poor prior to a useful recent placing and should compete at the business end here. She is only a five-year-old so might continue to progress and had plenty rivals finish behind her at Down Royal. Ballycommon Chapel is a 29-race maiden but has bits of form at this level and was narrowly beaten at Tipperary recently. Point-to-point winner Hay Baby might progress from her recent handicap debut.

SON OF ANARCHY is ideally suited by these race conditions and should take all the beating. A debut point-to-point winner in November 2023, he has been lightly-raced race since but has shown useful form in stronger maidens. Banana Three has some useful hurdles form but while reliable, isn't helped by conceding 8lb to the selection. Following Orders was a beaten favourite at Kilbeggan last month but might possibly have been unsuited by that tight track.

TAG MAN has proven form over staying distances and can improve following a recent reappearance run at Punchestown. Well suited by good ground, he has produced some useful efforts over hurdles and defeated former Cesarewitch winner Run For Oscar to win last August. Dual bumper winner Lieutenant Mayne can be hit-and-miss but is capable on his day and was a useful winner at Chepstow last month. He too likes good ground and it is notable he steps up to this distance for the first time. Former Galway Plate winner Ash Tree Meadow tries this slightly longer distance for his first time since point-to-pointing, but has been out of sorts in recent times.

KYLE VALLEY's form is quite in-and-out but was a dual point-to-point winner last year and bounced back with a useful recent run at Kilbeggan. Native Song is another dual point-to-point winner and while she has been well held in recent hurdle runs, will be greatly helped by stepping up in distance. Butchers Bill has been running reasonably well at this level recently.

THEDEVILUNO has run two solid races in defeat in recent months and has form at this course. He bumped into a capable winner here in March and while beaten 11 lengths at Cork last month, that winner has tip-top potential. Strong Link also has useful form in bumpers but did receive 11lb from the comfortable winner at Naas in February. Kildinan Prince showed promise in a 3m1f maiden hurdle a fortnight ago and, with that experience behind him, can compete in this stronger race.
