16:10 Bangor-on-Dee

4:10 Bangor- Al Sayah 13/8 (1pt)

This looks a weak 0-120 handicap hurdle and therefore a good opportunity for AL SAYAH (best priced at 13/8) to complete a hat-trick of wins. The Neil Mulholland trained mare has been in good from across both codes for the past year now with form figures of 11183211 with her only disappointing effort coming when outclassed in a Class 2 flat contest.

Al Sayah has won her latest two contests at Newton Abbot in impressive fashion including when winning by seven lengths last time in re-applied cheekpieces. The handicapper has raised her 10lbs for that victory so she runs here 3lbs “well in” at the weights and should prove hard to beat.

17:10 Epsom

5:10 Epsom- Rhoscolyn 10/3 (1pt)

The softening ground has arrived in time for RHOSCOLYN (best priced at 10/3) in his bid to win this race for a third time. The David O’Meara trained seven-year-old won this race in 2021 by four lengths off a mark of 92 before winning last year by 1 ¾ lengths off a mark of 97. He also has shown brilliant on another downhill track at Goodwood and is now down to a mark of 96 having had three eyecatching runs so far this year at big prices.

Rhoscolyn finished 6th at Chester last year prior to winning this race and has had exactly the same prep with him actually finishing closer to the winner this year. He is well handicapped, arrives approaching peak form and should appreciate this slight in the ease he will now encounter.

21:00 Doncaster

9:00 Doncaster- Analogical 5/2 (1pt)

ANALOGICAL (best priced at 5/2) was a stereotypical Sir Mark Prescott winner on handicap debut at Beverley before finishing 2nd at Redcar on his next start. That came only six days after his Beverley victory where he was beaten ½ length under a 6lb penalty.

Despite running here off in theory a 4lb higher mark, Analogical looks the type to keep progressing through handicaps and it is worth noting that the pair pulled 4 ¼ lengths clear of the third that day. He still looked green approaching the closing stages that day so there should be further progress and he is expected to get back to winning ways in this race.
