Also successful between the flags, the five-year-old was very impressive when opening his account under Rules. The consistent Keep Kool Coko looks the best of those with previous hurdling experience.

It could pay to give the Willie Mullins-trained YORADREAMER another chance. Runner-up at Ballinrobe on his penultimate start, the six-year-old had his excuses when a well-beaten fifth back at that same venue last time. A lightly-raced gelding with scope for improvement over hurdles, the son of Yorgunnabelucky can record a first career win here. Flat placed Young Churchill has shaped well enough on three runs over flights to suggest he should be capable of winning a race or two. At these weights, the Noel Meade-trained four-year-old has every chance. Having improved with each outing to date, Penny Express looks certain to play a leading part under Kevin Sexton.

MAXIOS PRIME could take advantage of receiving plenty of weight from her main rivals. She brings very solid form to this contest having delivered in a Fairyhouse handicap hurdle in February before finishing a more than fair third in a valuable fillies' juvenile handicap hurdle at Cheltenham in April. A couple of spins on the Flat ought to have sharpened Theflyingbee up and her runner-up berth over flights at Navan in December has been well franked. Dame Rapide held every chance at the last before finishing third on seasonal reappearance at Ballinrobe. That was her first start for Cian Hughes and she has been a money-spinner for her former trainers. There are ground concerns for Rockview Consort with more rain due.

BOWENSONFIRE is a ground-versatile sort who is going the right way over hurdles. He hasn't been out of the first three in his last five races and accrued victories in Limerick and when last seen in Tramore. The support came for Extrapolation ahead of his runner-up berth at Ballinrobe in April. That form looks strong given the exploits of the winner and the third home since then. He wouldn't want too much rain, though. Malbay Madness is up in grade, but has earned a shot at this company as he is on a hat-trick after two victories at Kilbeggan. Portnacoo is back with Harry Smyth for whom he memorably won three races in a row at this venue last year.

A good race with no less than four last-time-out winners taking part. WARRIORS WOOD got off the mark in Kilbeggan and the runner-up has certainly done his bit since then to boost the form. Although he was a big price, he was backed so it clearly wasn't a surprise. This is a marked drop in trip for Boston Rajj who was an easy winner over an extended 3m1f at Sligo. He could be coming home stronger than most. A first-time hood and nicer ground saw Ballyearl deliver in Tipperary and he should be in there pitching for a healthy cheque. Sage Conseil went across the Irish Sea to score in Sedgefield and is proven over further if this becomes a battle.

Philip Rothwell's AR NOS NA GAOITHE has a shot at doubling her career total. It was three runs back that she got off the mark in good style on soft ground at Clonmel and she showed that she can be competitive off her revised mark when third in Down Royal. Chatterbox has every chance of making the breakthrough. She's a long-standing maiden across the Flat and hurdles, but performed creditably in second on the level in Listowel at the start of the month. Rothwell's Ricky Langford won over fences at this track last summer and a return to Downpatrick could spark an improvement, while Live To Laugh is a handicap debutant with claims.

The well-bred LIADAWN can make a winning start for Willie Mullins. She's a half-sister to a five-time winner for the stable who was good enough to win a bumper on debut at Punchestown and who also obliged in a Grade 3 novice hurdle at Tipperary. Walks The Talk was a nine-length winner of a point-to-point and starts out on her track career for John McConnell. Gordon Elliott's No More Silver is highly likely to come on from an opening fifth over hurdles at Ballinrobe last month, while newcomer Tina Yeats is by Yeats out of a Walk In The Park mare, so there is potential on breeding.
