That said, Fitzmaurice wasn't far behind The Hrse Horse on his latest start and he is entitled to improve on his second run since being gelded.

This is highly competitive, though, with the likes of Sterling Knight and the hat-trick seeking Mr Swivell expected to be in the mix, despite the latter needing to post another personal best from his highest rating so far.

I AM I SAID struggled in the Group 3 Classic Trial at Sandown on his reappearance. Subsequently gelded, the son of Almanzor gets another chance to prove his latest running all wrong, and build on the promise shown when returning the ready winner on the Rowley Mile here last autumn. Noble Horizon is steadily improving and found only one too good at Chepstow last time, while Native Spirit will likely have come on for last month's debut at Nottingham.

Steph Hollinshead's sprinter drops in grade for this and will be hard to keep out of the finish. Ziggy's Queen faced a tougher task at Pontefract last time and has to be of interest returning to 6f, while Jimmy Knocker posted a better effort at Yarmouth recently and is not out of it either.

However, George Scott's charge will need more to complete a double on this switch to handicap company and preference is for ZARATHOS. The Dark Angel gelding appeared to find the 1m1f distance too far on his latest fifth at Musselburgh and a drop in class/trip may prove fruitful. Zabeel Road could make his presence felt too.
