THE PIPER'S CALL ran a big race in a Curragh maiden on debut when sent to post a massive price and this looks like a nice opportunity for him. The Ten Sovereigns colt chased home Flushing Meadows last month and that form looks strong with the winner narrowly denied in a Group 3 contest subsequently. The third horse, North Coast, has won his maiden easily since. Ger Lyons saddles two contenders and it's no surprise to see him claim 7lb off Down Royal winner Sir Alfie as he was set to carry a welter burden. That Dark Angel colt can confirm form with stablemate Howd'yadoit, who was behind him in third last time.

JACKANDTHEFOX has been knocking on the door this year for Jenny Lynch and may be able to gain a deserved victory. The Gutaifan gelding ran well on his return from a little break when chasing home easy winner Are You In Or Out at Fairyhouse just over three weeks ago. He had been third to Carrigans Grove at Dundalk previously off level weights and that rival has gone up 13lb since. Pat Flynn's charge got another 7lb for winning here 10 days ago and it's no surprise to see connections claim off her now. American In Paris was beaten a head by Carrigans Grove here last time and also has to come into calculations.

KWA HERINI has run a couple of nice races at the Curragh this season and there looks to be a race in her off this kind of mark. The Blue Point filly chased home Saturn Seven on her last outing and also ran well there back in April when fourth to one of today's rivals, Gazelle D'or. That filly has gone up 9lb since and comes here in winning form after her victory over 5f at the Curragh last month. Connections aim to offset some of the 7lb rise for that win by giving Jack Cleary the leg up now. Tropical Retreat ran well when second at Fairyhouse last time and is still relatively unexposed. She's another for the shortlist.

Recent Down Royal winner NORTH COAST can follow up in this stronger grade. Although he arguably didn't have much to beat at the northern venue, the Joseph O'Brien-trained colt landed short odds in impressive fashion. However, it is the form of his debut third at the Curragh last month that gives him leading claims. The winner of that race was narrowly beaten in a Group 3 subsequently, while the fourth horse was unlucky in running when just losing out in his maiden. Gowran Park debut winner Daytona is sure to have taken a significant step forward from that promising introduction. Green Soul is another with every chance in a competitive affair.

Having caught the eye staying on late on her first run beyond a mile last time, AMAVASYA has to be of interest over further still. The Michael Grassick-trained filly also has the advantage of racing against her own age group here, after picking up valuable handicap experience against her elders in that aforementioned Leopardstown race. Bred to appreciate a test of stamina, the daughter of Sea The Moon has strong claims despite her wide draw. Whats New has shaped with promise on a couple of occasions since switching to handicaps. Perhaps, the application of a first-time visor can bring about further improvement. Lisnadill should be involved having suffered an interrupted passage when third at Gowran recently.

No match for the principals in the St James's Palace Stakes, FIRST WAVE can get his season back on track. Placed on his first four starts, the Aidan O'Brien-trained colt easily landed a maiden at Gowran Park on his penultimate start. While the step into Group 1 company proved a bridge too far last time, the son of Wootton Bassett remains capable of making his presence felt in black type races. He should take this prize before his sights are raised once again. A beaten favourite at Cork last time, Storm Piece is almost certainly capable of better. Ger Lyons' colt had impressed when winning his maiden prior to that. The unexposed Fingerpaint is not one to dismiss lightly.
