CASTLE COVE arrives with strong claims on the back a Chester triumph on last month's reappearance and handicap debut. The son of Camelot beat the reopposing Grey Cuban in convincing style and is taken to defy a hike in the weights. The latter has subsequently franked that form, but the less-exposed Jolly Jack Tar may prove a bigger danger having returned the taking winner at Chelmsford last month. Defiance and last year's winner Take Heart are others to note.
Prediction : 1st Castle Cove 2nd Jolly Jack Tar 3rd Grey Cuban

Zavateri had the measure of Coventry runner-up Do Or Do Not when landing the Group 2 July Stakes at Newmarket and both take their chance over the extra furlong. However, HUMIDITY has nothing to prove in regards to stamina because he returned the ready winner of the Chesham over this trip at Royal Ascot and he can take this step up in class in his stride. Dorset landed a maiden at the Curragh and the Ballydoyle colt could also prove competitive.
Prediction : 1st Humidity 2nd Zavateri 3rd Dorset

The only three-year-old to have won this in the last 10 years was trained by Andrew Balding, and he sends JONQUIL with every chance. A close second in the French 2000 Guineas before coming up short in the Commonwealth Cup, this return to 7f will suit the Greenham winner. Jersey Stakes hero Noble Champion is another representing the Classic generation with a shout, while the older brigade include last year's impressive winner Audience and Kinross. The latter could only manage third last season having won this twice in the past.
Prediction : 1st Jonquil 2nd Noble Champion 3rd Audience

It takes substance to win this race and although 2021 winner Trueshan has that in abundance, it's most likely one of the younger horses will come to the fore, with ILLINOIS suggested as the leading candidate. Having won the Ormonde at Chester before a gallant second in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot last month, the son of Galileo looks a natural successor to Kyprios as Ballydoyle's leading stayer. The hat-trick seeking French Master and last year's runner-up Sweet William can ensure the Gosdens also have a big say.
Prediction : 1st Illinois 2nd French Master 3rd Sweet William

There is a good spread of pace across the draw and this should be fast and furious. SHAGRAAN is one who should benefit from a strong tempo and, as a previous C&D winner, the Mick Appleby-trained four-year-old has solid credentials now dropping back down in class. Similar comments apply to Palace Of Holyroodhouse winner Adrestia, who was just a neck and a place behind the selection when fourth in Sandown's Coral Charge. Redorange, Miss Attitude and Democracy Dilemma are other each-way options.
Prediction : 1st Shagraan 2nd Adrestia 3rd Redorange

A slow start didn't help NAVAL LIGHT in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot, but he still finished ahead of subsequent winners and that form is very hard to ignore. There is stacks of potential among the opposition and the likes of Stellar Sunrise, Anashhad and Yorkshire Puds could all takes steps forward from what they have shown so far. Star Of Albion, Bayraq Almuhamadia and Manly Fireball are all interesting newcomers to monitor in the betting.
Prediction : 1st Naval Light 2nd Stellar Sunrise 3rd Anashhad

ATLANTIS BLUE showed a big chunk of improvement to score at Lingfield last week and now has a 5lb penalty to carry. George Baker's six-year-old remains on a workable rating and it would be no surprise to see her go in again. Zapphire was beaten a neck into second at Beverley on her latest outing and goes off an unchanged rating so she has to be considered. Protest is just one more to keep an eye on.
Prediction : 1st Atlantis Blue 2nd Zapphire 3rd Protest

DUBAI TREASURE finished a fine fourth at York earlier in the month and goes off the same mark. The four-year-old should have no issues with this drop in trip and, with Oisin Murphy booked, she could be hard to beat. Harvanna was just denied at Chester and is only 2lb higher so should remain competitive. Recent Newmarket scorer Shallow is another to watch out for.
Prediction : 1st Dubai Treasure 2nd Harvanna 3rd Shallow
