The Willie Mullins-trained gelding was prominent throughout when scoring over an extended 3m and can follow up at the main expense of Yeats Star, who has been lightly raced since winning over a similar trip at Listowel last autumn. Dark Note and Caesar Rock are closely matched on running at Tipperary last month.

ONEFORTHEDITCH easily won a point-to-point and was successful twice over hurdles last summer at Killarney and Cork. The selection shaped well on her only previous chase outing under Rules at Clonmel and, having been placed on her latest two start over hurdles, reverts to fences off what appears a favourable mark. Point winner Our Zebo has a similar profile having won twice over hurdles this spring and was narrowly denied by Thehairyfella when switched to fences at Downpatrick last month. Likeable Chancer, Early Arrival and Futurum Regem are others to consider.

CAPTAIN RYAN MATT showed promise in three maiden hurdle outings on testing ground earlier this year and if handling this sounder surface, may prove difficult to beat. The Henry de Bromhead-trained gelding filled second place twice including behind the odds-on Grimaud in a 20-runner Gowran event in March. Penny Express has also finished second twice in maiden hurdles and was reportedly unsuited by soft ground when disappointing in a Killarney handicap last time. Dolce N' Milana represents the champion trainer and is a half-sister to two winners, including the useful Thirsty Work, and may prove the biggest threat to the selection.

ONEBRIGHTBLUEROSE has gained both career wins at Wexford including when ridden by Darragh O'Keeffe in May and has been generally consistent since. The selection wasn't helped by a mistake two out when third to Chosen Shant again at Wexford last week with Paul's Dream and Polly Poppins both behind. Tingarran Express has been placed here on a number of occasions including when runner-up in this race last year, while others to consider include Ballycashin and A Snow White Park. The latter takes a drop in class after finishing sixth to Davy Crockett in a Galway novice and has plenty of scope for improvement.

WHISKEY SERENADE gets the vote in this maiden for horses that have yet to finish in the first four under Rules. The point-to-point winner wasn't disgraced in two maiden hurdle outings last month, including behind Diamond Tipp at Downpatrick. Tomorrow At Dawn rates a threat on her fifth behind Cameletta Vega at Cork, while point-to-point winner Quarry Tiepy has obviously had training problems and was fifth to Derryville when reappearing here in May. Rizedda also represents a powerful yard and is another to consider along with Charity Barnum and Mountrivers Lass.

SEEITOLDYA won his only point-to-point start at Ballycrystal this spring and has shown promise since over hurdles including when switched to handicap company at Cork last week. The well-bred Walk In The Park gelding was outpaced in the closing stages and may be suited by this step up in trip. Mephisto has won three times on the Flat and the penny has really dropped over hurdles recently winning at both Wexford and Ballinrobe in the past week. The Gerry Keane-trained grey gelding stayed 2m7f really well last time and is an obvious threat along with Spellacy's Cross, who has filled the runner-up spot on his latest three starts.

Willie and Patrick Mullins have dominated this race in recent years and may have the answer again with HIGHLAND REALM. He is out of Stops A Nation, a course bumper winner on debut and a half-sister to Wicklow Brave, who was a real star for Closutton under both codes with victories including the Irish St Leger and the Punchestown Champion Hurdle. Andy Slattery has enjoyed a purple patch recently in bumpers and it will be interesting to see if the market speaks in favour of Gulf Coast Highway. Alaskan View was second to More Coko in this corresponding race 12 months ago and again filled the runner-up spot at Wexford last time, despite losing a shoe.
