In the penultimate Nursery event on the card, I am siding with two against the field.

The first one I really like the look of is LOGI BEAR (best price 18/1) at an attractive price. Representing last year’s winning stable, this filly was a huge eye-catcher when a staying-on third to Coppull on debut and the winner has gone onto bigger and better things since.

She then chased home Havana Hurricane at Goodwood and the winner has also franked the form before getting off the mark at Newmarket in great style. A fourth-place finish at Epsom next time was another fair effort in spite of not handling the track all that well.

While she flopped in the Super Sprint next time, she bounced back last time out. She ran on strongly to take fifth at Goodwood and would have been closer without being held in a pocket when going well.

Nothing went right for her but she was strong at the finish and I can only assume this course will really suit. All things considered, Richard Hannon’s charge must have has a cracking each-way chance with most firms offering five places.

Charlie Johnston’s JUST A GIRL (best price 12/1) has displayed race-by-race progress and her profile coupled with what she has shown to date fits the mould as a potential winner so must be backed.

She showed promise when sixth on her debut at Pontefract before doing her level best to chase home Daneh Of Dandy at Ripon, who ran really well when fifth in a hot Listed race last time out.

Last seen bolting up at Lingfield when stepped up in trip, she surely has so much more to offer and the booking of Rossa Ryan really catches the eye. The market has unfairly overlooked her.

ORMOLULU (best price 16/1) has done most of her racing on the all-weather, but she’s equally as effective on the turf, and having run well on her three previous course visits, she could come good if things finally happen for her.

She finished like a steam train to finish third here in June off this mark before getting no luck in-running down the field next time. Everywhere she turned, she was denied a run and her practically let her come home in her own time.

A line can easily be put through that showing and she was back on track when fifth here last time out. Even though she finished hot on the heels of the four in front of her, she again was denied a clear passage multiple times.

She has hit the line so strongly on each start at this course despite getting no fortune and surely everything will click off this mark when she gets a smooth passage. Hopefully Rab Havlin can use his experience to avoid carnage and play her late.

I’m adamant she is capable of defying this mark on the grass, so despite moving back up in class, I really like her from an each-way point of view. Most firms are offering a generous five places as well.
