Former point-to-pointer FRONT DOOR FAMOUS has shown up well in two racecourse starts for Gavin Cromwell. He was beaten 10 lengths into third over C&D last month, but the form received a boost when the runner-up landed a maiden hurdle at Roscommon. He then rallied for second in Wexford after a collision with the rail and could go one better. Lady Maxios showed improvement on her second start over hurdles when fourth in Wexford and not much more would be needed to be a major player here. The 100-rated October Hill has put together three placed efforts in a row in maiden hurdles, albeit beaten a fair way. She is in the hunt for another cheque.Prediction : 1st Front Door Famous 2nd Lady Maxios 3rd October Hill

WING BACK landed a gamble over C&D just over a fortnight ago and has prospects of following up off 8lb higher. He jumped notably well and won by almost five lengths, so merits the hike. Crucially, he races in the same grade. The Truant arrives in form courtesy of a victory in a staying handicap on the Flat in Tramore and has plenty of experience over flights to call upon. A 10lb rise for winning in Wexford appeared to catch out Menas Miracle on her next visit to that track when she finished fourth. She is one of the more likely contenders here, though. Paddy Hanlon takes 7lb off Pahlavi's back, which gives him a chance.Prediction : 1st Wing Back 2nd The Truant 3rd Menas Miracle

Plenty of these like to get on with things, so this could shape up well for a closer. MAVETHERAVE stayed on for third in Ballinrobe and was a fair fourth over C&D in June, so Stuart Crawford's charge has a shot of making the breakthrough in a tricky race. Eco Pete has been placed in two of his last three appearances, which makes him a contender. Minella Supreme enjoyed himself in winning a bumper at this track and could show up well on his first crack at hurdling. The Crawford-trained Southey won a point-to-point at Toomebridge in May and has enough hurdles form to advertise his chance, while Fool Me Once cannot be ruled out.Prediction : 1st Mavetherave 2nd Eco Pete 3rd Minella Supreme

WARRIORS WOOD comes with risks, but is undoubtedly on an appealing mark for this assignment. Eoin Staples claims 7lb, so he races off 103, and it is notable that the horse he beat by a neck in Ballinrobe won a valuable handicap hurdle off 113 - minus his rider's 5lb claim - in Killarney last week. Our Zebo has form figures of '212' in Downpatrick and just failed by a head over fences here last month, so is a solid option. Kilmore Coral took a mares' maiden hurdle in Tramore and represents a shrewd and in-form yard that had a double at the most recent Downpatrick fixture.Prediction : 1st Warriors Wood 2nd Our Zebo 3rd Kilmore Coral

SPECULATRIX finished third on her chasing debut at Wexford but she was badly hampered before the penultimate fence, which ruined her chance. She was good enough to finish fourth in a Listed mares' novices' hurdle at Cheltenham in April. Kalanisi Flash hasn't been seen since winning a maiden hurdle at this racecourse in May 2024. The market should be informative as to his chance. Invictus World has two hurdle victories and a bumper triumph in the book, and is a chasing newcomer to note. Mount Sinai has switched to Shark Hanlon after winning a claiming hurdle at Sligo for Willie Mullins and she has her chance.Prediction : 1st Speculatrix 2nd Kalanisi Flash 3rd Invictus World

It is interesting that connections have opted to go chasing at this point with recent Wexford winner MY GOOD PAL. Making the breakthrough over hurdles on that occasion, Gavin Cromwell now switches the son of Mount Nelson to the larger obstacles. Still relatively lightly raced for the Gold Cup-winning trainer, the six-year-old has scope for further improvement. Point-to-point winner Doyen Magic made an immediate impact on her chasing debut when scoring at Kilbeggan last month. Despite a 6lb rise, the mare remains fairly handicapped on her best form. Sea Of Doubt, who has been placed here over flights, is another chasing debutant worthy of consideration.Prediction : 1st My Good Pal 2nd Doyen Magic 3rd Sea Of Doubt

The Philip Rothwell-trained WOODSTREAM LAD catches the eye at the foot of the weights. A winner at this track over hurdles last month, the eight-year-old has been unable to exploit a comparatively lenient chase mark in recent outings but the return to this venue could spark the necessary improvement. Given that the Soldier Of Fortune gelding has only had four starts over fences, he should be open to progression. Lakefield Flyer has to be of obvious interest given that both of his previous career wins have come here. Portarlington is another lightly-raced chaser who should be competitive off his current rating.Prediction : 1st Woodstream Lad 2nd Lakefield Flyer 3rd Portarlington
