EXPLOSION has shown plenty of promise on both starts so far and stepping up to 1m may be just what is needed to see this son of Showcasing get his head in front. A handy draw in stall three will aid his cause and it may be Arbaawy who follows him home on the back of a promising second over 7f at Newmarket. Fifth in that contest on debut, Sports Day is another to note, as is newcomer Baltic Fleet.

The unexposed LIKEALOT has made the frame on both starts in handicap company and this appears to be an ideal opportunity for Ralph Beckett's filly to earn another victory. Just An Hour rarely runs poorly and is likely to be in the mix once again, while Byblos should not be written off after finishing third when favourite at Newbury most recently.

RAGE OF THUNDER has filled second place in both starts since winning at Salisbury in June. A 2lb rise for the latest of those efforts appears to be fair and it would be no surprise to see him go one better. Be An Angel was narrowly denied over C&D three weeks ago and should not be underestimated, while Sweet Sonata and Zarathos complete the shortlist.

ZOLDER seems on a fair rating based on last month's handicap debut. He gave the strong impression this extra yardage would suit when finishing a close third over 7f at Kempton and Denis Quinn's charge looks one to keep on the right side of. Third at Nottingham and Ripon, Rosemary's Rose is another with plenty of scope for further improvement, while Thiscouldbefun is back on a handy mark and could land a blow.

SILVER CHAMBER beat only three rivals when successful at Ripon, but the runner-up has subsequently given that form a boost. Second over C&D before that, the daughter of Sea The Moon looks to have strong claims of securing a double back at this venue. Beaten by the narrowest of margins at Kempton, Nelson Gate is likely to have a say in proceedings once again. Furhaan is a handicap debutant to note.
