The form of GEWAN’s (best price 13/8) Group 3 Acomb Stakes at York looks the best on offer, given he beat the well-touted Italy with something to spare and should in theory be a warm favourite.
Andrew Balding’s youngster looks a class act, and even though he’s up against three other last-time-out winners, the best is still to come from him. He can continue his rise through ranks.

APOLLO ONE (best price 14/1) has failed to produce his best the last three times, but I suspect that connections we’re trying to get his handicap mark down and he can now find himself a pound lower than when runner-up in this race twelve months ago.
I thought he was very unlucky to be pipped at the post and the form has worked out really well, as the winner American Affair, who was in receipt of nearly a stone from the selection, claimed the Group 1 King Charles last time out.
While the third Jm Jungle won a Group 2 at Goodwood recently and the third Rumstar won a Group 3 earlier this season, too. If this seven-year-old can reproduce last year’s second, I see no reason why he can’t go one place better.
His form stacks up well and connections have booked Colin Keane to ride. At an each-way price, and most firms paying four places, I think he’s a really appealing bet. He’s a good horse on his day and is an established Group 3 winner.
