Ribee 9/4 (1pt)

The Michael Mulvany trained RIBEE (best priced at 9/4) put in a huge career best performance last time in a first-time tongue tie and he should prove hard to beat under a penalty if replicating that form. The three-year-old had previously finished 2nd twice earlier this season off marks of 69 before dropping down the weights following three below par efforts since August.

Fitted with a first-time tongue tie, Ribee defied odds of 14/1 to win easily at Bellewstown by six lengths under Wesley Joyce and he will no doubt prove “well in” at the weights under a 7lb penalty when reassessed by the handicapper.

Fine Interview 6/4 (1pt)

FINE INTERVIEW (best priced at 6/4) is yet to win so far this season but this looks a good opportunity if taking well to first-time cheekpieces. The Hamad Al Jehani trained four-year-old won three times last season all on soft ground over 6f including when an impressive 3 ¼ length winner at this track.

Now returned to 6f on soft ground, Fine Interview sets the standard off top weight and he should prove hard to beat even if the first-time cheekpieces don’t have an effect.

Patrol 7/2 (1pt win)

Despite being well backed overnight, PATROL (best priced at 7/2) still looks worth backing on his return to the AW. The Dylan Cunha trained three-year-old has form figures of 2312131 on the AW in comparison to his record of 0-10 on turf so it is no surprise to have seen him struggling since April.

The handicapper hasn’t dropped him in the weights as quickly as connections would have hoped but he is still now only 3lbs higher than when a head heat winner at Southwell in April. He is well drawn in Stall 3 and should relish this return to 1m4f. He looks sure to run well back over this course and distance.
