Karl Burke trained colt who has won both of his races by wide distances. The son of Dandy Man won by five lengths on his debut at Leicester before following up at the Curragh in a sales race by 3 ½ lengths. He has an official rating of 99 following those two victories.
DISTANT STORM
Expensive breeze-up purchase who made a winning debut on the July Course at Newmarket beating several subsequent winners. Bounced back from a defeat in the Acomb Stakes to win the Group 3 Tattersalls Stakes in impressive style by 4 ¾ lengths over this course and distance last time.
GEWAN
Andrew Balding trained son of Night Of Thunder who won at Newbury on his debut before defeating Italy and Distant Storm in the Group 3 Acomb Stakes at York in August. Could only finish 4th in the Group 2 Champagne Stakes at Doncaster last time when racing too keenly in the early stages but the winner Puerto Rico has boosted the form winning a Group 1 since.

GSTAAD
Defeated subsequent Group 1 winner True Love on his debut before winning the Group 2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot by three lengths. He has been beaten less than half a length on his previous two Group 1s since but still remains full of potential with an official rating of 117.
ITALY
Justified short odds to win a Leopardstown maiden on his debut when beating a subsequent listed winner. Has placed on his next three starts at Group level behind the likes of Saba Desert, Gewan and Zavateri who all re-oppose in this race.
OXAGON
Could only finish 5th on his debut behind Distant Storm prior to winning a Sandown novice race by eight lengths on his next start. Finished a length 2nd behind subsequent Group 1 winner Puerto Rico in the Group 2 Champagne Stakes at Doncaster last time when slightly short of room late on.
PACIFIC AVENUE
Won on his debut at Newmarket by a head before finishing 4th in the Group 3 Solario Stakes and Group 2 Royal Lodge Stakes on his next two starts. The son of Dubawi has an official rating of 105.
SABA DESERT
Won at 4/7 on his debut at Sandown before winning the Group 2 Superlative Stakes at the July meeting on his next start when beating Italy by 1 ¼ lengths. He finished last of 6 beaten 13 lengths behind Zavateri, Gstaad, Italy and Dorset in the Group 1 National Stakes last time.
ZAVATERI
Eve Johnson Houghton trained colt who has won all four of his career starts to date. The son of Without Parole won the Group 2 July Stakes at Newmarket before following up under a penalty in the Group 2 Vintage Stakes at Goodwood. He beat Gstaad by a head in the Group 1 National Stakes last time showing a superb attitude and is top rated with an official mark of 118.

Dewhurst Stakes Trainers & Jockeys To Watch
Aidan O’Brien is tied with both John Porter (1884-1898) and Frank Butters (1927-1946) with eight wins in the race but five of those have come in the previous ten renewals with Air Force Blue (2015), Churchill (2016), U S Navy Flag (2017), St Mark’s Basilica (2020) and City Of Troy (2023). Charlie Appleby also has a good record in the race with three winners in the previous six seasons with Pinatubo (2019), Native Trail (2021) and Shadow Of Light (2024).
Ryan Moore, Frankie Dettori and William Buick have won the previous ten renewals between them including the latter winning three of the previous six.

Dewhurst Stakes Betting Tips
This looks an above average renewal of the Dewhurst Stakes and I am hoping that ZAVATERI (best priced at 10/3) can remain unbeaten. The Eve Johnson Houghton trained colt has won all of his four starts to date including when coping with the demands of Newmarket when victorious in the Group 2 July Stakes. He defied a penalty on his next start before beating the likes of Gstaad, Italy, Dorset and Saba Desert in the Group 1 National Stakes last time.
Of the five winners of the Group 1 National Stakes to run in this race, four of them went on to win and hopefully Zavateri can do the same and top off a fantastic season for his trainer.
