The Craig Lidster trained TRIPLE FORCE (best priced at EVENS) has shown improved form since the application of a visor and he can follow up his recent success under Eireann Cagney. The four-year-old has form figures of 1132221 in a visor including when victorious in Class 4 company at Newmarket last time off a mark of 65.

The handicapper has raised Triple Force 3lbs for that win but he actually drops back down in grade to this Class 5 0-70 handicap off top weight. His talented amateur jockey retains the ride and he should prove hard to beat.

This looks a competitive 0-70 handicap but preference goes to SMOOTH SILESIE (best priced at 15/2) who has won both of her starts at this track. The Lia Williamson trained filly has won off marks of 56 and 61 at this track as well as winning at Goodwood off a mark of 68.

Smooth Silesie finished a close 4th, beaten only 1 ¾ lengths on her previous turf start off a mark of 73 before slightly disappointing on her next two starts on the AW. This return to turf will suit and the handicapper has been generous in dropping her down to a mark of 70. Hopefully all eight runners go to post as she seems sure to be involved in the finish.

The John & Thady Gosden trained SAFE AND SOUND (best priced at 8/1) is a half sister to Ascot Gold Cup winner Courage Mon Ami (rated 116), listed winner Lion’s Pride (rated 115) and the 106 rated Danielle so she is likely to prove well handicapped off an opening mark of 69. The daughter of Golden Horn is bred to improve for this step up in trip having raced over only 7f and 1m2f so far in her career.

Safe And Sound was sent off 11/8 for her debut at Kempton last year so clearly she had been showing ability in her work at home prior that and she is expected to get off the mark at the fourth attempt.
