A chance is taken on the more experienced CHAOS CONTROL, the winner of two of his three starts over C&D and only beaten a length into third in a class 2 at Perth in August 2024. Given a pipe-opener on the Flat last month, he should be ready to go now. Forget The Way is the pick for third.

RULER OF THE RIVER registered her first success in a handicap hurdle with a tenacious effort at Plumpton last month and could again be tough to deal with running off a 5lb higher mark. That was also her first run for Fergal O'Brien, who appears to have found a good opportunity for back-to-back wins. Tankardstown Diva showed some improvement at Warwick most recently and she is another appealing contender on just her third start for the Tom Ellis yard. Kopa Kilana and Seahouses complete the shortlist.

Independent Jimmy took well to the larger obstacles when finding only one too good at Worcester on his chasing bow and should prove competitive once again, while Carlisle second Great Ballinboris could go well on his first start since April.

Stuart Edmunds' yard has been among the winners this month and it could be worth siding with INDIZA. His half-brother Immutable has won on both the Flat and over hurdles and the son of Ribchester could have the edge in the finale. Cracks Speed is a rare runner in this discipline for Richard Hughes and he's worth monitoring in the market, while Bebop is related to hurdle winners and is another to note.
