The Oliver Greenall & Josh Guerriero trained KING ULANDA (best priced at 5/4) was an impressive eleven length winner at Carlisle on Thursday and he should hold strong claims off the same mark in this race. The five-year-old had wind surgery prior to that victory in conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle under Ben Smith meaning he is unpenalised in this race.
The handicapper has raised King Ulanda 11lbs for that victory meaning that he is “well in” at the weights off the same mark and he should prove extremely hard to beat.
17:18 Newmarket
Tip 2: 17:18 Newmarket - Romantic Twilight - 0.5pt ew
ROMANTIC TWILIGHT (best priced at 20/1) ran well on her two starts on the Newmarket July course including when 2nd beaten only ½ length by the subsequent Group 3 Cornwallis Stakes winner Beckford’s Folly who is now rated 107.

Slightly disappointing on her next two starts in novice company at both Newbury and Chelmsford, Romantic Twilight made a winning handicap debut off a mark of 73 at Yarmouth when reverting back to front running tactics. She runs here off a 5lb higher mark but looks overpriced back at Newmarket.

Tip 3: 19:40 Kempton - Enemy - 0.5pt ew
This looks a competitive handicap but the combination of a falling handicap mark and a return to the AW should see an improved effort from ENEMY (best priced at 16/1). The Ian Williams trained eight-year-old has form figures of 2196221 on the AW with his last run coming when winning at Southwell in January 2024 off a mark of 107.
Enemy has dropped down from a mark of 104 to 92 in his five runs this season on turf but was only beaten 4 ¼ lengths in the Shergar Cup Stayers Handicap in August off a mark of 98. He should outrun his odds with Billy Loughnane once again on board.
