The more I look at the Charlie Hall Chase, the more I like the look of THE REAL WHACKER. The nine-year-old seems strangely overlooked considering he thumped Bravemansgame in this race last year.

There was no fluke about that performance and he warmed up for his repeat bid with a second over hurdles at Perth. With fitness on his side, and conditions to suit, this Grade 1 winner makes plenty of appeal.

At an each-way price, TORRENT could offer some value. Nigel Hawke’s charge has been a model of consistency in this sphere, only finishing out of the places once in 11 starts.
The four-year-old placed in multiple Grade 2 events last season and ran a lovely race when runner-up on his return behind Gibbs Island at Chepstow three weeks ago.
Off only a 2lb higher figure, and with must firms paying four places, I reckon he’s a major contender.
