Il Corsaro also caught the eye when fifth on his racecourse bow at Leopardstown a couple of weeks ago and Aidan O'Brien's colt should not be discounted. Ryefield Dasher is noted, while Cannes and Atomic City are newcomers to consider.

MICKEY THE STEEL was only narrowly denied when second at Navan 11 days ago and the seven-year-old, who claimed this prize in 2023, could go one better, despite a 2lb rise. Nouvel Espoir was just half a length behind the selection at Navan and is likely to be in the mix once again, while Mary Shoelaces edges out Glory To Be and Amicitia to be the pick of the remainder.

Shamalza made a winning debut over a mile at Navan a couple of months ago and has to be noted. That said, marginal preference is for TINA'S INDIAN, who returned from a gelding operation with a third off a mark of 94 at Naas last month and, on that evidence, the unexposed four-year-old could take plenty of stopping. The rest have questions to answer, but I Am Superman is the pick of them.

Loingseoir arrives on the back of a C&D victory, but a 7lb rise in the ratings demands more. With that in mind, a bigger threat may emerge from the unexposed Key Witness, who is entitled to build on his second-placed stable bow at this venue last month.

Uxmal wasn't seen again last season after landing the Queen Alexandra Stakes at Royal Ascot and he's entitled to build on his last-placed reappearance in the Curragh Cup in July. However, shock Roscommon Listed winner CHALLY CHUTE was denied a clear run at a crucial stage in the Irish Cesarewitch here, but still went very close and looks a more solid proposition in his current heart. Irish Oaks third Island Hopping is a potential improver stepping up in trip and she completes the shortlist.

Perry Mason made light work of the opposition when completing a double at Galway on Monday and merits respect in his bid to land a hat-trick. However, the assessor has reacted with a 12lb hike, which may leave the four-year-old vulnerable to the lightly-raced TERRE DE VEGA. John Kinsella's gelding offered plenty of encouragement with his second-placed stable bow behind Dark Viper at Leopardstown and any improvement could see him reverse the form. Fleur De Chine bounced back to form with a victory in Listed company at Naas on her first start over 1m4f. However, she's penalised for that success and the three-year-old STARFORD is preferred on these terms. Joseph O'Brien's charge has shown good progress in handicaps this year, having won three of his last four starts, including on heavy ground at Listowel last time. He will likely prove competitive at this level, while Ballet Slippers looks best of the Ballydoyle contingent.

Gavin Cromwell plays a strong hand in this, with Mcloughlin holding every chance on the back of a narrow defeat at Roscommon, but a chance is taken on stablemate CALAIS. The 600,000gns purchase displayed plenty of ability when finishing a close third at Roscommon on her introduction and she has lots of scope for improvement on her reappearance if coping with the testing ground. Last month's Leopardstown runner-up Shamrock Flame is not out of it either.
