Steve Ryder lines up his best bets for Tuesday’s racing, with four strong fancies across Redcar, Lingfield, and Wolverhampton.
Tip 1: 12:25 Redcar- Cape Ashizuri (1pt)
The John & Sean Quinn trained CAPE ASHIZURI (best priced at 7/4) was an impressive debut winner at Ayr in July and although he finished last of 5 on his next start, the form could hardly have worked out any better.
After his victory in the Group 2 Champagne Stakes, Puerto Rico followed up winning two Group 1s in France, the runner-up Oxagon went on to finish 5th in two Group 1s, the third Cape Orator won in France on his next start and was then 3rd behind Puerto Rico in a Group 1 last time and the fourth Gewan won the Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes on his start.
Cape Ashizuri drops back down to 6f here and should prove hard to beat back down in class despite a 7lb penalty.
Tip 2: 14:40 Lingfield - Tightly Bound (1pt)
Cardinal Point looks vulnerable under a 6lb penalty having only won by a short head at Chelmsford last week and a chance is taken on the unexposed TIGHTLY BOUND (best priced at 9/2). The George Boughey trained three-year-old ran with credit in her three qualifying runs this season before finishing 4th on her handicap debut at Leicester last time when upped in trip to 1m4f.
Midnite
Tightly Bound was beaten 3 ¾ lengths last time off a mark of 62 and now steps up further in trip to 2 miles off the same mark. She was outpaced that day so this distance should suit and she can get off the mark at the fifth attempt.
Tip 3: 15:22 Wolverhampton - Maris Angel (1pt)
Simply Blue has been well backed on his stable debut for James Owen but the standard is set by the top weight MARIS ANGEL (best priced at 4/1). The Fionn McSharry trained filly has won all of her three starts on the AW since joining this stable in July with two victories over 5f and her latest victory coming over 6f here a week ago.
The handicapper has raised Maris Angel 5lbs which mirrors her 5lb penalty but her victory last time was in this grade and she should prove hard to beat with conditions in her favour.
Tip 4: 15:52 Wolverhampton - Kuiama (1pt)
KUIAMA (best priced at 13/8) ran well on her handicap debut at Chelmsford on Thursday and she should prove hard to beat off the same mark. That was her first start since joining the Dylan Cunha stable having been sent off prices of 40/1, 200/1, 250/1 and 200/1 on her four starts for Michael Attwater.
Kuiama returned from a 139 day break to finish 2nd beaten only ¾ lengths behind the well backed Far Too Fizzy last time with the pair pulling 1 ½ lengths clear of a solid yardstick in Woody Y Fernandez. The handicapper has raised her 3lbs but she runs here off the same mark and should prove hard to beat.
