The Dean Ivory-trained filly has rediscovered her mojo, with a Kempton victory sandwiched by thirds at the Sunbury circuit and Lingfield. Prefer The Sister has dropped to a handy mark, and old-timer Revich showed there is life still in him over C&D a fortnight ago.

Better was expected of Venetia at Salisbury and there will be plenty who keep faith in her. Tres Chaud showed some ability in a good maiden at the St Leger meeting, but Charlie Appleby takes the wraps off a fascinating newcomer in the shape of ABASHIRI. The daughter of Frankel is out of a Prix Saint-Alary winner and is a half-sister to English Rose, who landed the Balanchine for the stable last year before going close in an American Grade 1. Crownright and Counter Intuitive are other Frankel first-timers to consider.

THAISA looked for all the world like an imminent winner when rattling home for third in a division of the fillies' maiden on this card 12 months ago so it's surprising that she still hasn't managed to get her head in front. She hasn't done too much wrong, though, and can build on her recent second over track and trip. Eliza Bennet has picked up her fair share of minor money and is back up a furlong after lacking a change of gear at Newcastle. Southwell fifth Threshold isn't out of it, but Anwen probably is.

Fort Rock justified favouritism to make a winning debut over C&D and Charlie Appleby's colt warrants the utmost respect. However, he will need to improve to defy a 7lb penalty and POETRY OF TIME might be the one to take advantage. The step up to a mile seemed to stretch him at Newmarket and the return to this distance gives him every chance of shedding the maiden tag. Go Rimbaud chased home a smart type here over a mile and is expected to be in the mix.

Media Legend wasn't at all disgraced on his first start when fifth over C&D and that experience is likely to have brought him forward. That said, he does face some interesting debutants, with TIGER'S NEST making the most appeal being a half-brother to a Grade 1 winner in the US. Others for the shortlist include the likes of Euston Hall and Dumuji.

Shiplake has been gelded and steps up from 6f on his first appearance for Kevin Philippart De Foy having placed at Windsor when last seen. The main concern, though, is stall 14 so a chance is given to WARRIOR MODE. Dropped 3lb for his handicap debut effort at Haydock, the cut back to 7f and return to the all-weather both have the potential to see him in a much better light. Huscal and Wild Nature appear best of the rest.

Having regained the winning thread over C&D, Coul Angel merits respect given his progressive profile. However, the combination of a rise in class and 6lb penalty leaves him vulnerable and it could be worth chancing INVICTUS GOLD. The son of Invincible Spirit shaped better than the beaten distance suggests at Newmarket's July meeting, with the introduction of cheekpieces a potential source of improvement. Completely Random is also worth a second look.

CAMELEY DAYS hasn't looked back since joining Chris Dwyer and a hat-trick could be on the cards. The three-year-old arrives on the back of a ready triumph at Bath and, reverting to the all-weather, is only 4lb higher. Southbank recently landed the spoils over C&D, but a 5lb penalty will make life tougher and a bigger threat may emerge from reopposing second Smasher.

Veraison is likely to prove popular after securing triumphs at this venue and at Wolverhampton, but a 6lb penalty does demand a career-best performance. With that in mind, reopposing runner-up JET BLACK, who is now 9lb better off for their C&D encounter in mid-October, is taken to exact her revenge. Night Tara also arrives in good heart and is a feasible alternative.
